From the last picture it looks like we have day/night cycles, or at the very least the ability to race at different times in the day...

From the newly updated GT.com UK site (updated today)

Finally an imminent blowout, I've been so disappointed being sidelined at E3, then Gamescom.

And yeah AT, that Ferrari looks absolutely nuts. There's something about the way PD do lighting I don't think anyone else has matched yet.

Absolutely stunning images, as good as Forza 3 looks, sorry but those just beat it hands down.

I admit they do look good but they look like they are from the 'Replay' part of the game where they have the ability to crank everything up. I would like to se some more in-game shots with the HUD etc.

They were saying the same about MGS4 cut scene and gameplay initially, we all know how that turned out.

It is true that the GT5 replay engine drops things to 720p and then adds AA etc, it's always has done that. Either way they look great :D

Please tell me there is a way to get my MS wireless wheel working on my PS3 :(

Unlikely given MS use their own 'wireless' solution compared to Sony using bluetooth.

Nah it stays at 1080p, but it adds some lighting affects.

What you're maybe thinking of is if you run the game at 720p it applies 4xAA, 1080p is just 2xAA.

Nah MS use a proprietary based wireless solution, that's why the G25/G27 can't work on the 360.

Somebody asked if Amar's NDA was up, he replied

Haha, sadly I can't.

I just have high hopes that one particular new feature I was told about as being internaly demoed in April - and later denied by Kaz in one interview when asked about - will finally get official confirmation and hopefully be unvieled tomorrow.

Anyone remember Kaz denying anything?

I don't think head tracking was denied...

edit: Someone said track editor?

Replay mode always looks a bit better in both games, but if the modelling is accurate it'll still look awesome in-game

I didn't know Forza had done a tribute video for the same car, you can see the differences in modelling above. The Forza snap isn't as good quality, but I just mean in general, there's differences between modelling and at times I do think the Forza cars are a bit bright.

That's why I still don't think anyone can touch PD on lighting.

AB, I cannot believe you're comparing a YouTube shot to a proper source shot! GT5 is indoors and the Forza 3 shot is outdoors, obviously they are going to look different!

I never said GT5 or its lighting is bad, just saying I doubt the in-game gameplay will look anywhere near that. Who watches replays anyway? I don't. I just want to hurry up and race!

+1 I'm the same, replay mode can be good to show off the engine to friends etc, but in reality it's skip and get to the next race.

Two direct feeds, that's what I mean about lighting, I still think it's not as good as GT, the cars look a bit "toyish".

And you don't watch the replays? Pffft, replays are like car porn in both games :p I used to leave replays of GT2/3/4 rolling on the TV as it would always catch my dads eye and he'd be like "woah, **** looks good" :p

Real vs Virtual (OMG WHAT ONES WHAT? it's actually really easy to tell)

Ferrari appears to have commissioned this video by both Polyphony Digital and Turn 10 (Forza’s producers), and has released both company’s clips at the same time.
