DrunknMunky Veteran Posted August 24, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) $300 bundle = Xbox 360 Elite, Halo 3 and Wireless Network AdapterMonday, 24 Aug 2009 11:48 It certainly does look like the Xbox 360 Elite model will be dropping to $300, but with a wireless network adapter included? Now that's even more promising! Having to cough up $100 for wireless gaming on the Xbox 360 has always been a little bit hard to swallow, especially considering that the PlayStation 3 has the functionality built in. An Xbox 360 Elite bundle has arrive online at the Canadian retailer The Source, including the 120GB Elite, Halo 3 and a wireless network adapter: "Limited Edition Xbox 360 Elite Halo 3 Bundle includes all the same features and accessories in an ELITE 120GB console (wireless controller included) but includes a bonus Halo 3 game and wireless network adapter!" The price? $325 Canadian dollars, which converts to approximately $301 US dollars. Now this offer would really put Microsoft's console in direct competition with the newly announced PS3 Slim, with the only functionality and price differences being the PS3's Blu-ray drive and free online. There's no evidence that this bundle will make its way out of Canada, with the "limited edition" nature of the deal further questioning the length of the promotion. But we still believe that the Xbox 360 Pro will be phased out with a price-dropped Elite taking its place, even though Microsoft failed to announce anything at GamesCom in Cologne, Germany. http://www.gamezine.co.uk/news/formats/xbo...036;1320846.htm Edited August 24, 2009 by DrunknMunky
BoredBozirini
Might sell mine and buy a new one if this is true.
Skulltrail
Sounds good to me. How about a price drop on the wireless adapter itself? I could use a wireless adapter rather than connecting my console to my AT&T U-Verse TV receiver. (it works, it's better than running a 100ft Cat5 around my room, but cannot be detected as part of my home network; so no media sharing)
jerzdawg
great news if it makes it worldwide... i have no use for the wireless adapter but at least it would help justify the pricetag now with the ps3 at the same price with wireless built in.. StevoJD
Competition is getting fierce! I love the smell of bloodshed early in the morning! I'd be all over this, I love the 360, but my economic situation is quite rough at the moment. :(
SMELTN
Might sell mine and buy a new one if this is true. Definitely looking at doing this myself. I purchased mine in March-April or so. Would love to have the wireless adapter and Halo 3. The Elite is the black one right? Also do the Elites feature the Jasper chip or no? Because mine was the holiday bundle and it did not have the Jasper chip

+Mystic MVC Posted August 24, 2009 MVC Share Posted August 24, 2009 Great decision and no more buying off Ebay for those who are like for $50 adapters.

coresx
Some better pics Link Anyone else think this is setting the 360 up to finally come with wireless built in with the slim version. I wouldn't be surprised to see this spread more around the world to clear stock over the coming months this year and next. Decent move to sweeten the deal. -KJ
They should've colored the WNA to black to match the Elite. And about time they included it! MS are making off with way too much on their WNA and HDD's.
Timan Veteran Posted August 24, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 24, 2009 No hd cable of any kind. (Surely we know u can get hdmi cables for 2$ online) but idiots will buy 100$ monster cables at bestbuy. Dunno why they got rid of the component cables. Tech Star
Now THIS should have been the Halo 3 bundle that was released in 2007 (which I bought and returned, but I loved it :D). This is a great bundle and I hope that it comes into the US. More competitive pricing might mean Sony will bundle a game also. :D
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted August 24, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted August 24, 2009 Hopefully it's long term but and not just some short-term bundle :/
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted August 24, 2009 Author Veteran Share Posted August 24, 2009 I would guess this is going to be a short term bundle, but the Xbox 360 Slim will include it built in. Basically until the supplies dry up and they are ready to launch Valhalla.

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted August 24, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted August 24, 2009 They'll do something about the ghostbusters trap, even if it's just including it, making a slightly smaller 360 and slightly redesigning it. New looking 360 with Natal is my guess. Consoles this gen ain't getting PS2 slim size, too much going on in them/hard drive. Well the Wii is tiny, but it's powered by hamsters. If they have the money to blow on something without research, I'm not saying they deserve to pay $100 for monster cables but come on. I know this will hurt the average consumer but maybe it will teach them a lesson (wishful thinking). They'll do something about the ghostbusters trap, even if it's just including it, making a slightly smaller 360 and slightly redesigning it. New looking 360 with Natal is my guess. Ghostbusters trap? Yep if we are going to see any kind of console revision with MS this generation it will be near Natal's release. With MS who knows. At this point I would like to think that they are spending a ton of R&D on making sure their next generation will have an almost fail proof design. :p
