Confirmed: New X360 Elite comes with Network Adapter & Halo 3

Ghostbusters trap? Yep if we are going to see any kind of console revision with MS this generation it will be near Natal's release. With MS who knows. At this point I would like to think that they are spending a ton of R&D on making sure their next generation will have an almost fail proof design. :p

Munky calls the powerbrick a ghostbusters trap, I decided I liked his train of thought!

They'll do something about the ghostbusters trap, even if it's just including it, making a slightly smaller 360 and slightly redesigning it. New looking 360 with Natal is my guess.

It didn't happen for Xbox because MS knew it was a failure compared to PS2...they were pretty quick to abandon it as we're all aware.

This time, however, it'll be a path to greater profitability...which they really need to do after the loss-making Xbox.

Really glad to see that they're finally bundling the wireless adapter in with the console itself. It was a pretty sad state of affairs before, where an Xbox 360 came out of the box with less wireless functionality than a DS ;).

Long term, though, Microsoft is going to laugh all the way to the bank with this bundle. As the number of 120 GB hard drives increases, so will the sales figures of the overpriced Games on Demand products.

Umm for a first generation console that nobody thought could succeed, it did pretty well.

Wow, I totally didn't expect this. Good move by MS. Now they just need to bring down the price to buy it separately.

BTW Munky, I like your new sig :p

This smells of a quickly thrown together response to Sony's strong campaign that is currently on the go.

I think it was something planned some time ago and they were just waiting for Sony to announce the PS3 price cut / slim.

There's no way they had the new boxes created and shipped so quickly.

That is a good deal, hard to deny that.

I don't see how some of you are saying you didn't see this coming though. MS has always been open to spending money or losing money in order to hold a strong place on the market/industry. This move was more than predictable, closer to guaranteed.

I agree. When the video and the rumors of the PS3 Slim came up, MS had to act fast and I think this is their response, until Natal that is.

It's a nice bundle, but it would've been better if the wireless network adaptor was black. It looks out of place with the white colour.

Unless you plug it in the front, you will never see the white.

Definitely going to get rid of mine and get this version, I need the HDMI & Wireless, also to the person that said there should be a slim version with the wireless built in (Yes, wireless SHOULD be built in as opposed to a USB adapter) but with the way 360's run we would get 4 Rings of Death & it would catch on fire!!

your post was good until that part :p

Nice deal, challenges the PS3 slim fairly well, it's now down to whether the person buying the console would rather the enormous games library on the 360 or blu ray on the PS3 slim. Not a bad console war right here.

They should put the WNA right into the console and not as a seperate addon. Maybe for the next xbox.

They damn too expensive but then again, I won't need it. My xbox is right next to the router anyway.

So went to Best Buy last night.. They had the Elites for $299, but it did NOT include the wireless network card and/or Halo 3.

Canada only, bub.

The leaked ads for Target are showing the Elite with an extra controller when Sunday rolls around. Limited time only.

As one of the threads stated, the Dell Online store is giving a HUGE discount to the Elite purchase through them. You need to enter the promotional code at check out though. $255 for the Elite.

Yep, the timing was purely coincidental.

True, true.

It's Canada-only. :(

Those wireless adapters (the one in PS3) and this one are really useless for anything but really connecting to Xbox Live or PSN. WiFi G can't stream really HD at all (even has difficulty with 720p little less 1080p) and it's really just a waste of money. You are better off getting a wireless bridge with N standard and plugging up to 4-8 devices (depending on the port numbers) for about the same price of the Xbox adapter alone and you get to do everything.
