Knightwolf20024
I got this game for me and a friend from amazon. Annnnd now I have a few questions. Are the booster packs included in the 1.5 patch? I'm confused about that part. Also what's the co-op mode that is mentioned in the BF2 history trailer? And how is the widescreen support working out? Also the patch order is BF2 Install > 1.41 > 1.5? the booster packs are in 1.5 , and the patch order is 1.41 then 1.
Brodel
As outlined by DICE mods over at the EA Forums: http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/battlef...ml#post11066045 Battlefield 2 Special Forces Update 1.41 Update 1.50 Done If you have Battlefield 2 Complete Collection then you just do 1.
RAID 0
1.92 gigs? Awwwwwwwwww. My 1 meg connection no likie. That's right, I'm downloading at a whopping 135 KB/s. The kicker, 300 feet from my driveway is the cut off for 10 meg service that's actually LESS money per month than the phone + DSL plan. :(

Yusuf M. Veteran Posted September 1, 2009 Veteran Share Posted September 1, 2009 Yes! I didn't have to reinstall Battlefield 2. For some reason, I didn't have patch 1.41 installed. I installed that then patch 1.5 right after.

SimplySchizo
I gotta say this thread is a testament to my feelings that this is among, if not indeed the best, MP gaming experience ever.I mean seriously, a game that is over 4 years old, an incredibly long overdue patch finally comes out for, and people are actually still excited about it. Do not get me wrong, I know and have read a lot of people here are indeed reinstalling it, so they are only finding a rejuvenation for the game because of the patch, however again, I just see it as a testament to how damn good this game actually is / was. How I cannot wait for BF3, although I would be a bold faced liar if I did not say after this whole fiasco with BF 1943 on the PC that I do not have my HUGE doubts, but I really feel no game has ever delivered a total MP FPS experience like the Battlefield series. Totally agree. I remember playing the demo of bf1942 when there was just Wake. I'll never forget that sence of freedom, and awe when i first saw those planes zip overhead. Till bf all other mp games felt way too linear. The freedom to just be able to be on land, sea, and air was awesome! sweet sound effects! one couldnt help but feel immersed in battle. the maps are just the right size and beautifully done. then there was the modding community. DesertCombat was crack for me. along with the reality mods and different skins. the mod community definitely expanded this games life. battlefield has been till the day, the best game ive ever bought. years in comparison when you talk playtime. other games take up a couple hours and to the duster they go. BoredBozirini
Anybody else having any problems trying to join any server? I've tried three times already. The first time it was a punkbuster error, so I updated it. The second one I lost connection. The third one, the game crashed. Am I the only one? SimplySchizo
i was having those exact probems prior to patch. reinstall did the trick for me. 1.4 worked fine. then patched to 1.5 and ingame without a hitch.

Catch up and show em how its played :D Hell yeah dre. Count me in there sometime very soon. DirtyLarryECF So I have not seen a full release list of the patch, have they sorted the issues out with the mics on Vista? I was never able to get it working under Vista. Granted, I honestly did not put in much effort at all, it did not work, and that was the end of it, but hoping now it will just work. @305 Amen to that brother. (Y) Going back to 1942, I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that the battlefield series (and the mods) has supplied me with more total gaming hours than any other game BY FAR FAR. Blackhearted
Ok so. I have a 2 or 3 year old install of this game from about 3 windows installs ago on my secondary harddrive. The game has always worked fine without needing to be reinstalled(only punkbuster needed reinstalled to play) but obviously the patch wont install cause windows doesn't know this install exists and thus is says "it can't find it". So would anyone know how i would go about fixing, i assume the missing registry entries, so i can install the patch? I'd rather not waste a needlessly long amount of time juggling 5 cd's and then redownloading yet another oversized patch before installing 1.5. There is a 5 cd version :o or do you mean all the discs from vanilla, sf, af, eu? It's a shame they didn't make SF free with this patch as well. My current install of bf2 is just vanilla + af/eu

GrimReeper
I mean the 3 discs from vanilla, and then the 2 from sf. Tough break. I got the 5 cd (i think) version of HL2 when it came out, I haven't reinstalled it ever again for that very reason :p
M1h4iL
I have BF2 complete collection but only vanilla is installed and patched to 1.41. Can I just install the 1.5 patch and play? Or do I need to install the expansions and then apply the new patch? I am confused by what the other people were saying earlier in this thread :s. +BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted September 2, 2009 Subscriber¹ Share Posted September 2, 2009 Damn, once again my stats are reduced to zero when I reinstall. I have contacted EA about this since the game first came out, hell since the original BF came out. Every time I reinstall I have to jump through hoops gettting my account back, and when it is retrieved it's zero'd :(
