Now that the Xbox 360 Elite has officially dropped in price and killed off the Pro, it was only a matter of time before there'd be a new rumor to pin on Microsoft's console. Amazon Germany, who previously listed the PlayStation 3 Slim a good 20 days before the official debut (it still has the same Amazon Stock Identification Number as it did when leaked), has gone ahead and posted a new Xbox 360 model, ASIN in tow, with a 250GB HDD, two wireless controllers, and Forza Motorsport 3. Price is listed at 247 euros ($397), a good 30 euros over the current Elite price. No release date, but Forza 3 isn't due out until at least October 23rd so we'd say you got awhile to wait and see if this pans out. Any chance we can get a built-in WiFi router along with that extra storage space?

[Thanks, skipper]

Verkauf und Versand durch Amazon.de. Geschenkverpackung verf?gbar.

sold by Amazon.de. Gift package available.

It's not just anyone selling it, it's Amazon. Still it's not proper confirmation, but if they did the same thing with the PS3 Slim, it has a good chance of being true. MS could have been sat on this update for ages. It's not like including a 250GB is an unbelievable technical achievement. Sounds like a very possible update to me.

finally another game that makes my XBox360 worth using ;)

p.s. Forza 3 will most likely be the best game for the XBox360 since Forza 2 which overall is still the only 'real' reason i have my XBox360 to this day is for Forza 2 but once Forza 3 comes out there most likely wont be to much reason to play Forza 2 anymore since Forza 3 will probably have better graphics with roughly the same game play as Forza 2 (maybe a little more tweaked to get that much closer to real life)... but i think Forza 2 (and soon to be Forza 3) are the most fun/challenging when all assists are OFF. assists on it's not nearly as fun as the game feels cheapened.

The PS3 Slim was up on rumor sites and everywhere from confirmations to images. This is the first time this thing is being popped up and from Amazon, which usually does not put up products for sale before they are released for pre-ordering. It might happen, but I am saying don't get your hopes up. :/ It would certainly be a nice upgrade from the 120GB right now on the Elite.

I also wonder what the stand-alone price for 250GB's will be. :p Half the consoles price I bet (if real).

imagine the retail price of a 250gb HDD!!

Far too much is what it will cost!! I only paid the ridiculous price for the 120Gb because my currently 20Gb is just too full and Forza 3 sorta needs to install to it (not sure how much it needs though) :p

I disagree, unless your good and/or have a wheel, assists off can turn into a nightmare! (does for me! :p).

EDIT: Makes complete sense they'd wait till now, isn't there a 250Gb PS3 due to be release soon? (or has been?) MS would look kinda silly with only a measly 120Gb HDD while the new top slim PS3 sports a 250Gb.

Home-made 120Gb drive ftw! Net cost: ?30!

Acutally if this is true at all, there's a good chance MS will drop the 60Gb "Live starter kit" in favour of a 120Gb "Live Starter Kit" and introduce the 250Gb HDD in at the price the 120Gb unit is now. Still not cheap by a mile, but still.

I honestly don't see how anyone would need more than 120Gb of space! I've had this 120Gb drive since September last year and I've still got 30Gb+ free. And that's with a whole bunch of game installs! GAMES I DON'T EVEN PLAY ANY MORE!

I've just got that much space, I can't be arsed deleting them1111one

Now that the Xbox 360 Elite has had its price trimmed, there is room at the top for something even MORE elite... And now that gap has been filled. Coming to South Africa in October will be the Xbox 360 Super Elite, the new big daddy of the range, featuring a massive 250GB hard drive and two wireless controllers.

XG spoke to the local Xbox 360 distributors Comztek, and they confirmed that not only are we definitely getting these bad boys, but there will be a Forza 3 Super Elite bundle, retailing at R4,999.

People have been moaning about the lack of HD cables with the Elite system, and if you've been wondering about HD cables coming with this one, the word from Comztek is 'No'.

Below is a BT Games advert showing off an upcoming Super Elite offer:

What are those prices in pounds?

280 euros is 240~250 pounds. the conversion from rand will give you a much higher and unrealistic amount because prices charged for electronics in many places outside europe are very different.

Well let?s hope it?s true, a 250gb 2.5" SATA hard drive is about ?36 on eBuyer... would be great to hack one of them to work with the 360. I might finally have to upgrade from my 20gig drive.

Same here. I'm still running the 20 GB drive, and it's really starting to seem inadequate now. I was feeling the burn when Microsoft offered the ability to install games to the drive, and now Games on Demand is making the 20 GB drive feel even smaller (not that I would use Games on Demand in its current form, but the option is always nice).

I have my doubts as to whether the 250GB+Forza3 bundle is real, but $397 would be a pretty good price if it were.

With more games and video/music content being upped to Live, I see it as a given that we will see a bigger HDD at some point.

250GB for $150 is better than $150 for 120GB anyday.
