Help with Nhancer and EVE Online

Recommended Posts

Gaming related as such.

I am trying to get AA/AF from my G92 8800GTS in EVE Online, heavens knows why the creators CCP won't support it, perhaps they all use onboard graphics, I do not know.

Downloaded Nhancer, and of course within 20seconds of opening it errors *see screenshot*

When ignored the program continues to run but any settings I create for EVE Online, are not shown in the game which continues with annoying "jaggies" and looks terrible.

Edit: The error occurs when I click on any of the buttons.

mmo games usually does not use hq technologies like aa. They want to minimize resource usage and leave cpu and gpu for max internet speed. They also do this to run game with older pc's.

Granted. But that doesn't really help answer his question.

I just tried now, and I got the error attached.

I'd use the Nhancer forums but they are down for me :(

Do you have the latest version of .NET Framework installed? If not, download it from here.

Thanks, I downloaded that file, when attempting to run as admin or normal user, nothing happens.

Just one of those days right now.

I'll run a re-install of Nhancer using admin privileges.

You're welcome. Yeah, try that. It might do the trick. Good luck!

I give up.

I've never had so much trouble installing a program in my life!, and to boot the support forums are down also.

I think I will uninstall and try and find a superior ( working ) program elsewhere, thanks all for your help.

Don't give up yet. Just wait until the nHancer forums are back up. I'm sure it'll be up within a day or so.

In the meantime:

  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and delete the nvapps.xml file.
  2. Uninstall nHancer as well as your video card drivers.
  3. Install the latest drivers from NVIDIA.
  4. Reinstall nHancer.

I'll do that, it's very annoying as I am on the latest drivers, I do recall reading on the forums yesterday about a beta version which fixed an error within Nhancer. I am rather amazed he did not put the beta on the frontpage.

I did a quick Google search and found a couple of links relating to nHancer and the recent 190.xx drivers. Apparently, these drivers are responsible for the nHancer errors. It's a shame the nHancer forums are down. Talk about bad timing, haha.

I quite literally, and totally give the **** up, and am going to look for my XP disc if this continues.

So I have so far, uninstalled my Nvidia drivers and Nhancer, reboot all is well.

I have downloaded the latest 64bit Windows 7 drivers from nvidia.com, and set that to install.

The error is the result :)

My next card is gong to be ATi.

I AM running Windows 7 64bit, however these brilliantly well tested drivers from Nvidia seem incapable of understanding the small factor of my system OS.

*facedesks*

I've had to install the USA drivers to get a succesful installation. Which strikes me as strange that the UK drivers from the very same official website, are broken.

Nice testing there Nvidia :)

Well Phantom, I used the US ones and they worked, and also to note guys, Nhancer is STILL crashing out.

Not happy at the minute.

Looks like the nHancer forums are back up. This thread may be of interest to you. It links to a beta version of nHancer that supposedly works with the 190.xx drivers. Also, you may want to follow the steps outlined in this post. :)

I thought the ATIs dont support AA with eve online (Incase your thinking of buying one just for that)

I have an ATI Radeon HD 4870 and it definitely supports anti-aliasing in EVE Online.

Bingo that sorted it!, brilliant!, took some shuffling with the profiles but Alleykat has a profile uploaded, and with some minor tweaks I am more than suited :D

Nice! I'm glad it worked out. I assume AA works in EVE Online with your GeForce 8800 GTS (G92). If so, may I ask which settings you used in nHancer?
