Corris Veteran Posted August 31, 2009 Veteran Share Posted August 31, 2009 I got my Macbook about a month ago, so it is the current white one you can buy on the store. Updated to Snow Leopard on Saturday and everything has been fine. So I'm using my Macbook last night and I look up at the battery to see that instead of showing the time left ay however many hours or minutes, it is jsut showing 0:00. I switch it to percentage and it is at 99%, I leave it for about 3-4 hours while I do whatever on my macbook and it doesn't get any further with "Finishing Charge" still being displayed. I figure, I'll use it without being plugged in, so I do and now I am here, it is stuck at 0:00/99% without going anywhere and not finishing the charge. The light on the cable that connects to the Macbook stays orange. Any help as to what's going on?
Quillz
Odd situation, as I've never seen or heard of this before. It's possible your battery is bad. Try taking it out of the MacBook and resetting the SMC.

To get it fixed:1) Use your laptop without it plugged it, drain the battery till the laptops shuts down. 2) Wait 3-4 hours 3) then plug it in and charge it full. It should reach 100% again. Hope it helps EDIT: Actual support link from Apple's website: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490
Dave_teh_Tech
I have a Mac Book and this happens sometimes also. I would agree with Cldmani, charge it up and then drain the battery, sometimes just using it down to about 50% then charging it back up can do the trick.
