lothodon
i feel the pain here, as my elite is dying on me. it's my second unit and it's out of warranty since it's not a rrod error, just constant lockups. it's not that i don't like the xbox anymore, just jaded by two failed units, especially when my ps3 is going strong. a FULL 3 year warranty, without limits to coverage is what i think ms should do, why cover a rrod but not a constant lockup? seems very shady to me, and enough to get me (and i'm sure others) to take my business elsewhere. LightEco
You guys won't believe this but I set my 360 flat on its surface and it doesn't RROD anymore, it only does it when I stand it up vertically. I don't understand why that is though but I'm relieved it's working. It probably won't last long though. Just get it fixed! What are you going to do when it permanently dies the day before ODST hits? V-99 ODST
It probably won't last long though. Just get it fixed! What are you going to do when it permanently dies the day before ODST hits? I'll live I guess lol. I take good care of each and every one of my consoles but it one just refuses to only give me headaches I won't bother myself. Plus I think I broke one of the clips that attaches the hdd bays on the side, I'm sure MS will see that.

V-99 ODST
Not exactly sure where you're located but, "Craigslist" ... I put my 360 up w/ 33 games for $450, no ones interested.
neoadorable
do you want it fixed or do you want to sell it? What you're asking is a bit much, most people won't pay you for those games, and if they do it'll be an average $5 each. and a used 360 of that early a build isn't more than $100 on the street, so maybe $250 is more realistic. just ask MS for a replacement if it acts up again. As for lothodon, don't be naive, all you have to do is tell them it's ringing, they don't even check and won't hold you to it.

I wasn't serious when I posted it on craigslist, I just put it up there incase someone made an offer. All is right atm, just the way it should be. Yes because usually when you get an RROD you can't play even for a few minutes (this time was an exception because it did rrods within a few minutes while standing vertical). Mine would RROD from overheating after playing 2-3 hours this summer. Plus I think I broke a clip or two so I don't think MS will fix mine anyway. Sikh
^ They dont know that. SO quit digging yourself a bigger hole and SEND IT IN, nothing hurts in trying. The "clips" can break by "taking off the hd". Just try it. Tell them its red ringing, if they let you send it in, and the stickers still there, they wont care. Lately they have been just plugging in, red ring, and chuck it aside, They dont bother to check it anymore. And I know this because 1 of my friends uncle who lives in texas works at the warehouse. He says its just stacks of 360s everywhere. Being repaired, new ones, refurbished ones that died again, just dead ones that are gonna get stripped and possible some parts are saved(IR Module, gray covers, are the common stuff). But you dont have to believe me, just try it.

Sikh
You have to keep everything and the faceplate anyway. They only want the system. And they usually provide the box if you call them and tell them that you dont have a printer and need them to send you a label and a box if they can, if not, find any box, put some news paper or whatever in there rolled up(a lot of companies are doing it now, taking cardboard paper and rolling it up.) and send it off. They can careless. If its a red ring and you get a new one, who cares about the old one.
