LucasArts unveils 'Lucidity'

Recommended Posts

So I just got done watching Gametrailers TV on my DVR from last night.

They were at Lucas Arts, so a lot of talk about new Star Wars games, but what I found most interesting is the announcement of a game called Lucidity.

It is a puzzle-platformer game, with a real interesting art style, and it is coming out for the PC and XBLA.

Not much info is online about it right now from a Google Search, and GTTV said they would have videos on it but I did not see any just yet, but I was able to find an article on USA Today.

The house of Star Wars will release a brand new puzzle platformer for PC and Xbox 360 as a digital download October 7. LucasArts unveiled details on Lucidity in an announcement earlier today. The game features Sofi, "a young girl who is filled with a persistent desire to explore new worlds and overcome all obstacles in her way."

The game will require players to protect Sofi as she drifts off into a series of levels based on her dreams, placing puzzle pieces to help her drift through these dreamscapes unscathed.

"Lucidity comes from our effort at LucasArts to form several small internal development teams and give them the creative freedom to make games that surprise, amaze and inspire," said LucasArts President Darrell Rodriguez in a statement.

No word yet on Lucidity's price, but Game Hunters will keep you posted when those details are revealed.

Will either update this once I find video's and / or other people feel free to do the same, just thought it was interesting Lucas Art's has a new IP and it is so different. They said they plan on doing more games like they used to do, so this looks like a step in the right direction.

And Gametrailers has a few videos up for this now...

So the whole concept of the game is she keeps walking and walking, and you have to place items in front of her like steps, fans, slingshots, etc., to help her make it through and also to reach hidden items, etc. It is almost like Tetris as you know what piece you have to work with next, but obviously it gets a bit more in depth than it. For an XBLA, I am really into it.
