jebus197
Hi, I have just bought a new Macbook pro 13 inch laptop. There was a huge premium on a few gigs of extra storage and memory, so I just bought the basic model. In any case, the first thing I'll be looking to do is upgrade the internal storage to something in the region of 500GB+ - followed shortly after this by upgrading/increasing the memory. My question is pretty simple. Essentially all I want to know is what kind of harddrive/interface and what kind of memory should I be looking out for to buy for this system? My objective of course is to save money over the standard Apple/store price for these upgrades - but to do so without negatively impacting on performance. Any input would therefore be appreciated. AltecXP
Any SATA laptop HDD, and DDR3 laptop memory. I dont know how easy the new 13 Pro is to upgrade I think you have to remove the entire bottom now.

jebus197
So would this do? I'm not sure if it's SATA II though. Should I be buying a SATA II drive?
AltecXP
They are compatible, the only difference is the throughput speed. I don't know if the 13 Pro supports the full II speed, but the drive will still work.
