Kool Box
Well it's a step in the right direction. I like the fact that the Xbox 360 can play the MKV files now which is good. I just got to find a way to get some transcoding set up to work for the PS3 via WMP 12. I still can't get the "play to" option to show up in WMP. Must be missing a step :p

rajputwarrior
so when it comes down to it a PS3 with PS3MS is still a better solution then anything the xbox can offer for playing MKV files with 5.1 audio?
AndyD
Title is misleading - streaming and transcoding are not the same things
Aergan
Title is misleading - streaming and transcoding are not the same things I completely agree. Hali goes ape**** when trying to produce thumbnails in WMC on your host PC with Windows 7 64bit if you've got a *lot* of 1080p content. Tested an two different home server configuration PC's running 7229 -> RTM and it's the same each time. It's worth mentioning that whilst this is a step in the right direction, it's very picky on what h264 encoding profiles / settings have been used and very prone to audio sync issues. Hopefully this will get more of their developer's attention and become integrated into the main DivX package. Personally, transcoding to m2ts (h264 Profile 4.1-5.1 / AC3 5.1) is the "daddy" for HD playback on an Xbox 360.
Unimatrix Xero
well ive tried this and now i can watch my mkv's on my 360, not really sure how it works, but a 1080p movie works without problems
