chimera963
Hi there. I'm looking for simple, straightforward backup software for OSX (I'm on Snow Leopard). What I'm looking do is mirror 2 external drives (I'm not backing up my Macbook's internal drive). Can anyone recommend me anything decent?
Phantom Helix
100% FREE and exactly what you need, it can even do bit for bit clone and can be scheduled to run automaticly http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html Just make sure you get the beta http://www.bombich.com/software/download_ccc_beta.php
chimera963
That's great, but the problem is, it won't backup to/from NTFS drives, which I use (along with MacFuse).
Phantom Helix
well except for doing a full offline bit-to-bit HDD clone with something like Drive Genius i don't think there is much Mac apps that deal with NTFS specifically, because Apple doesn't include proper NTFS drivers and the third party ones like NTFS-3G and paragon don't play with OS X fully Only one i use is WinClone to backup my BootCamp partitions http://twocanoes.com/winclone/ however it requires you save the disk image to an HFS+ volume
CoolBits
Make a hfs+ partition and use time machine... you cant get better than this. :)
