Basically I own Fallout 3 and I was wondering if I could get an expansion pack such as "The Pitt" or "Mothership Zeta" without having "Operation Anchorage" or if they are sequential, also, which one is best?

I'm pretty sure you can get any one you want in any order you want. I had The Pitt installed before Operation: Anchorage, so I know that one works. Mothership Zeta is the latest (and probably last) of the expansions so I'm not 100% sure about that one, but it shouldn't matter there either.

Also, I liked Broken Steel the most. Albino Radscorpions are a real pain in the ass though.

They're not sequential, so you can pick and chose whatever you want, the just add new points to the main map that you can visit whenever you want to do them

IMHO the order best to worst is as follows:

Broken Steel (This one also increases the level cap to 30.

Point Lookout

Mothership Zeta

The Pitt

Operation Anchorage

The only thing I'll say is once you get all the alien weapons from MZ, it can make the other quests stupidly easy, but they all have their rewards, the T-51b Winterised Power Armour from OA is just amazing, as is the Infiltrator rifle from TP

I'd agree generally with what was said before. None of them require any other ones to play.

However, I would recommend getting Broken Steel first as well since it raises the level cap. It's also one of the better ones in terms of the storyline and quests.

After that, I'd rank them The Pitt, Point Lookout, and Operation: Anchorage. I've not gotten Mothership Zeta yet, so I can't comment on it.

Another point to keep in mind: they are going to be releasing the whole thing with all the DLC soon on disc. Also, keep an eye on Major Nelson's blog to see what the deals of the week are. Very often, DLCs that are a few months old will go on sale for somewhere between 25-50% off.

I'm going to get Operation: Anchorage, Mothership Zeta and Broken Steel because I'm a sucker for energy weapons and killing people before they can see me (Gauss Rifle comes to mind)

Broken Steel would have to be the best since it allows for free roam after the main quest, and boosts the level cap while adding new weapons and enemies and new perks (like the Almost Perfect perk that raises all S.P.E.C.I.A.L values to 9)

the T-51b Winterised Power Armour from OA is just amazing

wasnt that supposed to be the 'sim' version, as in the level designers accidentally put the armor meant for the simulation inside the vault... and there is an unused 'real' version of the armour with a much lower durability rating thats inside the game files

I'm not sure about that, but it does not require the power armor perk nor does it every need to be repaired which is the reason why it's my main "outfit".

On a side note; Operation Anchorage is decent, especially if you want to weapons/armor. I am saving Mothership Zeta for last as it does make you very powerful weapon wise.

You can get good information here on everything Fallout 3 and specifically the addons here: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_add-ons

Broken Steel ONLY for the fact that it increases the level cap, other than that it is completely linear and a waste of time.

The only real DLC was Point Lookout. It provided a free roam atmosphere just like the game and is exactly what all the other DLC should have been.
