I was playing some games with a friend the other day and every time any game started he pushed all buttons like a maniac to skip all intros, and well, if you've played the game already go ahead and skip it, but he never played those games before, so you watch all of them, you hate them or depends on the game (like MGS4)?

I have heard of these things called game intros, have watched one or two, but what are these things you mention called cutscenes?

That is my not so clever way of saying I tend to watch Intros because they are just that, but with cutscenes I skip them more often than not unless I happen to be into the story which is indeed quite a rarity.

And for Intros I tend to like them way more if they are like Half Life, Chronicles Of Riddick, and Batman, where you are more the participant in the scene rather than truly just watching some movie. So I prefer them to be In-Game, but MGS4's was kick ass I recall too, I had no idea the movie had ended at first and I was actually in game.

I watch everything the first time.

But after that, I generally skip them when possible unless I'm going to find it interesting.

QFT.

It's part of the whole "new game" experience. Like when you used to read the manual on your way home from buying the game etc :p

Mmm that new manual smell

Watch everything the first time, skip in consecutive play throughs that happen soon after my first playthrough. If I'm revisiting a game months down the line I'll usually watch them all again.

Some games I'll watch them every time.

I wouldn't be much of a Halo lover if I skipped any intro/cut scenes. That said, I mostly skip during repeat but don't mind if I can't skip.

I watch everything the first time.

But after that, I generally skip them when possible unless I'm going to find it interesting.

Like everyone else, I watch them once and then skip them, except I do occasionally watch the Left 4 Dead intro.

As for your final question, nothing boils my blood more than having to sit through the same lousy cutscene over and over when you keep dying right after a really long scene.

It really depends on the game, it has to have a nice storyline. On the other hand if im going back to a game that iv already played, ill skip both, just cause.

I tend to watch an intro once, and then skip all cutscenes, even my first time through the game.

I would rather play the game than watch cutscenes, and if the storyline depends that much on the cutscenes I probably shouldn't be playing it :p.

I am also aggravated by unskippable cutscenes. I shouldn't have to watch anything I don't want to and as said earlier, it really becomes annoying when you have to replay a part several times and the cutscene is mandatory.

Normally I skip the intros and watch the cutscenes the first time I play a game. Everytime I play it subsequently I skip them all. Unskippable cutscenes are really annoying

When I first play a game I'll watch all the intros and cutscenes, however after that I'll usually skip them.

Unskippable ones are extremely annoying, always give someone the option to skip it is they really want to.

I can recall watching Soul Reaver I intro again and again hehe

YES!!

I do watch them in entirety the first time I play a game, rarely do I watch them over and over... for instance, the Killzone intro gets on my nerves that i can't skip it from the beginning.

Intros and cutscenes are fine the first time, but after that they get skipped. If I actually care about the story I'll watch them, but in a game with a bad story like GTA (any one) I skip them straight away.

Unfortunately I think Valve's cut scenes they have in game are great but terrible at the same time, they're interactive and great ways to reveal the story, but they're inherently unskippable, so when I play through for the 4th time the fact that Lamarr breaks the damn teleporter isn't a surprise, but having to wait for it to happen is more annoying.

I watch intros and cutscenes first time then I want to skip afterwards.

I'm playing Gothic 3 where I wish could skip some of the dialogue, I don't really want to listen to some old geezer character wheezing his way through his lines when I can read the subtitles in a fraction of the time.
