Spykes424 - yes you can burn dvds onto the hd if you have a chip

grimreaper - xbox reads -r, +r, -rw, and +rw. although it does depend on the dvd drive that you have in your box. samsungs read everything, philips read most, and thompsons hardly anything

It's supposed to do that, it's part of your BIOS. You can look for a BIOS that resets on eject, or you can use your original BIOS, or you can just do an in game reset like most people do (Default is Left Trigger + Right Trigger + Back + Start).

If you have the latest Evox bios installed, make sure any reference to IGR is turned off in the evox.ini since the bios will take care of IGR from now on. Also, experience shown has shown that launching games from Avalaunch works a heck of a lot better. Only game that doesn't work is Soul Caliber 2.

How exactly does it launch them "better" than EvoX? I've never had a game not start using it, and Soul Calibur 2 is a pretty popular damn game.... I see that as a major disadvantage to that dashboard.

Why would anyone still be using the evox bios and evox as a dash :x

Many people are using the Evox M7 BIOS because it was the first to support the 1.4 and 1.5 console, and likely don't see any reason to change to any other BIOS, even if the newest Xecuter BIOS finally supports the newer consoles.

Also many people use Evolution X because it's a simple dashboard that just gets the job done.

Ya know, I get confused with the different bios all the time. I do know what is installed is the Xecuter 4978.3 and 3921 of whatever. And I wasn't referring to playing the game any better...only that IGR (in game reset) actually works under avalaunch. In Evolution-X, all I would get is a black screen which made IGR useless. Soul Calibur 2 so far refuses to reset but everything else does.

Avalaunch has no problems launching anything. I would definitely give it a shot if you haven't so already.

evox dash has a lot of problems starting games/apps.

I've never had any problems launching anything from either my sons console or mine in the entire time I've had them which has been some time.

If IGR isn't working it's likely your BIOS doesn't support it, just as it doesn't support no reset on eject. You really should update your BIOS.

hmmmm it doesnt work? weird?

You have to make sure that IGR is set to no in settings. There are three. Like I mentioned though, I never had much luck with Evolution-X and resetting. I suggest using Avalaunch...works 100% of the time except when playing Soul Caliber.

Also, like Brian says, you should make sure you have a bios that actually supports. Latest versions of Xecuter do.

well it DEFINITELY has probs, you've seen the threads at x-s.com forums. especially if you have a network cable plugged in. evox never launched xbmp for me.
