pmh
no, its a fairly new one. Why do you want to flash it?
BroChaos Veteran Posted November 17, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 17, 2003 it's sorta old. it's been replaced by the chameleon. try www.matrixmodchip.com for help. /edit i wouldn't say it's fairly new. it's already obsolete with new versions of the xbox. grimreaper
wow thnx alot guys. im thinkin bout flashin the bios, well, isnt it better to have the latest bios? oh yea can i flash the bios usin slayer's v2.5? thnx again.
BroChaos Veteran Posted November 17, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 17, 2003 latest or next to latest is usually the best. depends on if the new version fixed bugs in the old one, or just brought more bugs... slayer put a lot of work into documenting help for v2.5. it should tell you in there... BroChaos Veteran Posted November 18, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 18, 2003 you can get mxm at the usual places. (efnet/#xbins) it's way more advanced. it's like the xp of the xbox, whereas evox is like dos. mxm is way more customizable, can have preview videos, moving skins, etc. yeah, you can go all the way up to 4TB if you want :p well you lose about 5gb for normal xbox stuff, so you'd have 110gb free after formatting. games, in my case, on average, are about 2.5gb. BroChaos Veteran Posted November 19, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 19, 2003 http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act...T&f=35&t=123416 well here's what i did: paid $50 for my x2.1lite + switch paid $80 for a 160gb hdd took both to a guy, who installed them for $50. that's $180 total, for a bigger hard drive. so it's not the best deal, but it's not the worst. if you have no other options, just go for it, modded xboxes are just too much fun to pass up. Spykes424
where did u get a 160hd? for 80 bux?!?!
BroChaos Veteran Posted November 19, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 19, 2003 well, after rebates. outpost, best buy, circuit city, crapusa usually have some type of deal going. usually, that's why the modded xbox prices are so high, because they charge you full price for the hard drive. Spykes424
ok, im gonna look for a big cheap hd... lol, which ones work best? are western digitals ok? how can u tell if there lockable? so i would just go to a store and buy a regular internal hd like for a comp? BroChaos Veteran Posted November 19, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 19, 2003 i'm still running 4977 with the lba48 patch. have you? i thought about it, but i've been concerned about the lba48 patch, since i've only been running it for a couple weeks now. once i'm certain that it's 100% stable and perfect, i'll prolly update. i could always throw it on the second bank also...maybe i'll try that :)

BroChaos Veteran Posted November 19, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 19, 2003 yeah, i've used relax and ccxstream. not at the moment though, cuz i still haven't moved my pc from my gfs apartment (where i used to live) to my own apartment (where the xbox is). what modchip do you have? if you have an xecuter, you can use flash-x to flash only one bank at a time, so if you have a bad flash, you just flip the bank switch, and do it again. I have Xecuter 2.2 lite. I dont know much about the hardware and whether it has two banks. Thats the next time I'm gonna read up on. Right now, I'm trying to get Relax to work and setting up MXM.Do you know of a good place to dl preview vids for MXM?? Also, you didnt have any trouble with vids and music using relax? i tried using xbmp 2.4 cvs 10/29 with Relax 7.5 and 7.6pre and it got me nowhere. Just locks up or kicks me back into xbmp. BroChaos Veteran Posted November 20, 2003 Veteran Share Posted November 20, 2003 well if you have the switch installed (which i'm sure you do), one of them is to switch between banks 1&2, and banks 3&4. if you use 512kb bios, you can fit one on banks 1&2, and a second on banks 3&4. i think allxboxskins.com has thumbs/vids. if not, there should be links to places in the mxm forum. have you tried using ccxstream? i just followed the tutorials in the xbmc forum. it's a pain to make sure your .ini is perfect, no typos or anything. have you tried following the tutorials?
