Which game system would be better for me?

as of this posting this deal still alive, you can get the elite for the same 250ish from dell

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/product...mp;sku=A2936946

15% off code= 6FWJ247J1P44CK

makes total before tax 254.99 and has free shipping, just trying to help you get the most for your money.

You are awesome with that link! Free 2nd day shipping with a total of $270.29.

I may be ordering that later on today, but I'd go to walmart and get the Games, Dell seems to be a big higher then anyone else. $42 for Grand Theft Auto, walmart has it for $39 i believe.

That coupon doesn't expire for awhile so I should be ok.

How do you install games to the HDD?

Simple... When you put the game in, go to the Dashboard (if you have it set to auto-play when you put a disc in, you'll have to press the Guide button then Y - or turn autoplay off under the system settings) and under "My XBOX" find the game/disc channel. You should have the options for each button on the bottom of the screen - I believe it's Y for game options which brings up a menu with Rate, Install/Uninstall and Play choices.

Good choice by the way - I doubt you'll regret it (Y)

I'm really surprised how civil this thread has been

It's shocking isn't it. When I clicked the thread I thought "Oh joy! What's gonna be kicking off here between fanboys..." but I was let down lol

Awesome thanks!

I'll most likely order this later on this afternoon from dell. Go to walmart, get a game and live. Then to game stop to buy used games.

Noise is irrelevant. People b***h about it, but once you start playing a game, you don't notice it. Xbox Live for the 360 is an extremely different and far superior experience than XBL for the original Xbox. It's worth every penny. As for your last point, you're fairly misinformed. The Xbox 360 doesn't anymore have more issues than your average electronic appliance. Microsoft has fixed the RROD issues and it's really not something you should be worried about.

Hmmm nope, sorry to disagree, the system still fails a lot, my jasper died last month, I've managed to repair it but who knows if it will be permanent.

to the OP, if you care that much about online, yes, sometimes PSN is like a ghost town with a rolling hayball and all :p.

Edit: oh! good choice! welcome to the club (Y)

So I went to Game Stop today. They have games cheaper then walmart, Grand Theft Auto is only $29 there.

So I am going to be starting out with Grand Theft Auto 4, and either Far Cry 2 OR left 4 dead, or Rain Bow Six Las Vegas 2. and 1yr of live!

Then the new Halo game got my attention, along with Left 4 Dead 2, and the new Call of Duty game coming out later.

I start a 2nd job, which would get me discounts on the games, so thats a plus.

Good choice! I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot!

If you like RPG's, you should definitely check out Mass Effect. IMO it's one of the best games on the Xbox360. Scrap that, I think it's one of the best games ever! Can't wait for part 2.

*order placed*

Xbox 360 Elite.

Will be here on Thursday!

That dell coupon gave me 15% off, and 2nd day.

It's cheaper to go buy 1yr live at walmart, i'll save myself $7 then if i would have got it from Dell. Because then I'd have to pay extra for 2nd day. I haven't played a video game on a console since 2006. Should be interesting.

I'd like to suggest NOT to get Far Cry 2. If you plan on playing online a lot, I suggest left4dead, especially if you plan to play online with a lot of people on this board. The game, as a single player leaves a lot to be desired, but as an online coop game, it's great.

Also, you might want to look into a rental service like Gamefly. I pay $23/mo for 2 games at a time which saves me a whole lot of money, esp for single player games. If you want to keep the game, you pay $10 or more off retail price (depending how old the game is...older games are like $30) and they ship you the box and manual. As far as new games, if you set up your queue correctly, they usually ship the morning of launch day and get to your house within 3 days. If you're interested in a service like this, you can hit up me or Larry, who both subscribe, and we can hook you up with a 1 month free trial.

u will most likely have the jasper chipset.. this is a very reliable console

gta4 is not a good game imo, overhyped, not worthy of the scores it got. if i was you i would wait for crackdown 2

forget far cry 2, rainbow 6 and left 4 dead (l4d2 out soon anyway)... go for a much more better game like cod waw (dont get cod4 as modern warfare 2 is around the corner)

give the xbla games a go, u can test them out 1st. i recommend trying peggle

I have always been a fan of the GTA Series, I must get the new one, No other game comes close to it. I'm only getting Left 4 dead, for it because its cheaper. COD WAW is actually expensive, even used. So I am just waiting for Modern Warfare 2.

GTA and Left 4 Dead should keep me busy until I get more games.
