DrunknMunky Veteran Posted September 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted September 19, 2009 September 19th, 2009 @ 19:40By Stephany Nunneley Over on Japanese Street Fighter IV blog, writer Natsuki Shiozawa promised that a solid announcement regarding a Street Fighter IV would be made in the near future. Basically it was an announcement about an announcement, but surely Capcom would not even say that if one was in the works. Or would it? Keep in mind that this does not mean it will be Street Fighter V, but a possible Alpha, Omega, Ultra, Mega, or Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious as the firm is wont to do. According to Famitsu, SFIV producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that almost finished on SFIV versions of T.Hawk and Dee Jay. So that is something to keep in mind. We?ll have to wait and see. http://www.vg247.com/2009/09/19/capcom-hin...hter-iv-sequel/ More characters weee:D:D

TheLaughingMan
eh, imo way to early for a new one hasn't even been a year yet. Not counting arcade release. Lets see what they will say at TGS
JustGeorge
I thought it was pretty low of them in IV to include extra costumes on the disc but make you buy them from XBL. Come'on, that kinda stuff would've just been unlockable easter eggs not long ago!
LOC Veteran Posted September 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted September 19, 2009 eh, imo way to early for a new one hasn't even been a year yet. Not counting arcade release. Lets see what they will say at TGS Are you kidding? This is Capcom we are talking about here. They could do a new SF4 version every 8 months if they wanted to. I remember with SF2 how many versions came out so quickly. It was nuts. You'd go to the arcade and they would have a new cabinet lol Of course, arcades are dead here in the US (sigh) and a console release may be slower I don't know. But overall, this is Capcom. They can churn them out I'm sure. Just add 2 or 3 new characters (or older missing ones) and maybe revamp online something or the other, and bam there you go. Ji@nBing
In this day and age I don't see why they can't just release this as DLC. No need for a whole new version for a few new characters and tweaks.

Yeah, I remember how many version there was. I really do hope its only 2 new fighters they are adding in and not 10 like ppl are talking atm. All we need in life is one tekken. carmatic
In this day and age I don't see why they can't just release this as DLC. No need for a whole new version for a few new characters and tweaks. i think they have to seperate the updates out into different games to mantain compatibility with competitions etc... they have to clearly state which game they will be using for the competitions, and i dont think that counting the DLC's will be formal enough for them...its like when you go to an arcade you dont see DLC's, although that would definitely be a reason to keep going back for more but it doesnt happen that way... Aergan
The only original thing they could do that's left would be to make Ryu an unlockable character.

Michael1406
In this day and age I don't see why they can't just release this as DLC. No need for a whole new version for a few new characters and tweaks. Companies will give us everything as DLC...except the stuff that should be DLC. When DLC first started happening one of the first things I thought of was Street Fighter. DLC and patches theoretically removes the need to do that. Yes, there are people who don't have the Internet and can't download rebalancing patches and extra character DLC, but why not sell an upgrade patch for the people who already have SF4? That'd work especially well for the 360 gamers who install the game to HDD, so it all would run off of the hard drive. EDIT: Just realised that EVERYONE would need the character models so people would be paying for unlock codes which would cause anger. So I guess nobody wins. Except Capcom as they're going to do what they always do and win, as usual.
rajputwarrior
the more i played this game the more i hated it... It's like too simple or easy. I don't know how to explain it. The fact they took out parrying really made me angry, as soon as i got the hang of it with street fighter 3 alpha (my favourite) i jump to SF4 and it's no where to be seen. Also i wasn't really a big fan of the artstyle either. I wish they stuck with the animated type of look, kinda of what blazblue did. In my opinion this is the worst one since SFII (except for that 3d one they made for psx... don't remember what one that exactly was). Also the final boss (Seth) was just cheap. Like not even fun cheap.

It's ironic that in a product that we play to enjoy and have fun that the climax makes you so mad that you could put a hole in your door.

That's like every street fighter game. As soon as i get to the boss in almost any of them, i'm done. Sitting there for double, sometimes triple the amount of time it toke to you get through everyone else just to beat one guy is not fun.

What I love about Sf4 is I can pick it up do ult/FADC and still have fun, when I go up to someone that totally understand SF4 I get my ass whoop. Thats when I relized there is more to this game. SF4 is simple but very deep just like Tekken and Smash. I believe even capcom said this was aim towards casual players and players that is use to SF2. You can always go back to 3rd strike, and year **** Seth cheap ass mother****er edit: anynew info on Dash?
DELTETHISACCOUNT
Unlike most of you here, I'm a SFIV addict. The most rewarding multiplayer game I've EVER played. I dug up some new info for those of you who are interested. The rumors for the Street Fighter 4 upgrade have been picking up steam with the Tokyo Game Show currently taking place. The game is now being called 'Super Street Fighter 4' in most circles. Here's a bulleted rundown of the stuff that's being rumored. Get your salt shaker out and keep a steady supply coming — because the list you read below is confirmed in no way, shape or form. The previously leaked characters are all said to be in the game. Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, Adon, Cody and Guy. The new characters are rumored to be: Hakan - An Arabic grappler obsessed with oil. Juri - Evil Asian girl fighter working for Seth. All characters will have two Ultras. They will both be available at one time, not selectable like with Third Strike's Super Arts. The commands to execute your Ultras do not overlap. It sounds like the characters from Third Strike are set up with their prior Super Arts. They had three in that game, so one will be their Super and the other two their Ultras. Gen has four Ultras because of his two fighting styles. One of these is said to be an Air Ultra. All characters still have one Super, except Sakura who apparently has a Shinkuu Hadoken (Super Fireball) as well. Some characters will have Air Ultras. The Bonus Stages will be returning. This will be an exclusive arcade release at least for a few months. An official announcement is said to be coming at the Tokyo Game Show and on the Japanese Street Fighter 4 blog soon. Expect the return of the many familiar Supers, and a few new ones like Metsu Shoryuken. You'll see the return of Chun-Li's Kikosho (Super Fireball), Gouken's Denjin, Sagat's Tiger Cannon (Super Fireball). Ibuki has a run command. Guile has his Sonic Hurricane move from Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Dudley has his Chain combos from Third Strike, plus one additional Chain combo. Cody is the only character with an Alpha Counter and he still has his knife. He supposedly needs his knife to perform one of his Ultras. Rufus can cancel-break the last hit of his Spectacle Romance, or the launch kick of Space Opera Symphony. Guy has his Chain combos. Makoto has her Tanden Renki Super from Third Strike. Zangief is said to have a 720 degree motion Air Ultra called the Siberian Blizzard. The game takes place one year after Street Fighter 4. Dudley was searching for his car in Third Strike, in this game he's searching for a rose. T. Hawk's storyline involves him protecting Juni or Juli. Dhalsim's new Ultra is called the Yoga Shangri'la. There's a new gameplay system called Tadan Saving, the phrase implies a multi-hitting or multiple-level Focus Attack. The console characters are all said to be added to the upcoming arcade release, with the possible exceptions of Seth and Gouken. Since the game is still very much in development, and assuming these details are legit, a lot could still change, just like Abel's Super/Ultra move did in the original Street Fighter 4. These details came in from various sources on the internet, like Johnny5Optimus on ProjectCovo.com forums, Ultima on Shoryuken.com forums and TimeKillr and Ryan "Fubarduck" Harvey on the NeoGaf forums. All of this as DLC? Get real please.. http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2009/sep/24/...-upgrade-notes/
