PES 2010

I think it is generally accepted that FIFA 360 >>>>> PES 360 == PES PC >>>>>> FIFA PC.

This formula doesn't seem to be true this time around for PC.. as someone who has played both demos.. I felt disappointed and frankly, bored while playing PES.. FIFA 10 demo kept me busy for a good 4-5 hours even though it didn't have Arsenal

FIFA 10 seems to be a thousand times improved over FIFA 09..

:p

PES was my game of choice on PS2. But they've failed massively with this generation of consoles (aside from Wii). FIFA all the way.

Then they are quite frankly, stupid. A demo is an "advert" and if it's not showing the game at it's best then it's a waste of time and does them no favours at all. I've just read that the "review code" isn't the finished game either, which is even more stupid.

Very good point

The game seems to play just like the old crap one.

I can not see or hear a difference in the game.

Unlike the demo for Fifa 10, you see where they have made changes to the game.

I was (still am but only on the PS2 and N64) a Pro evo fan or as some might remeber it Winning eleven or ISS.

Even way back before then on the super nintendo it was the next best thing to kick off or sensible soccer.

Fifa imo did make a very good World Cup 98 that had manuel passing and curling but then they brought out the next fifa after that it was the same old boring thing.

Then I played fifa 09 and it hurt me to say it but they had come a long way and added features that I wanted from a footballing game.

Konami on the other hand just kept bring out the same boring game with little details to it, but nothing a mahor as Fifa 09.

That was a big turning point for EA.

With Fifa 10 they have added so much to it.

And if your a true old skool INSS Delux you will see that now we have josolling for the ball like we used on Delux back in the day.

Clearly not just me and congratulations you have an opinion :hmmm:

Only just one other person have complained. The PES menus are great.

The demo is clearly, like stated by Konami, a unfinished build. I see great things though and still wouldnt switch from PES to FIFA.

I just downloaded both the PES10 demo and the Fifa10 demo, and I was very dissapointed with PES. The gameplay is still so slow, and jerky. The 8 point movement is so old fashioned, you'd think they would have gone for the 360movement by now.

PES will have 360 degree movement as well.

I finally tested FIFA2010 PC demo too, and it seems just like 09. I really don't see how people can say it's better than PES.

Not saying it is bad, but it certainly has it's share of faults just like PES.

I just downloaded the demo of PES 2010 on my PS3 and I was disappointed. The game is very fast and I don't think that is normal. Overall I find FIFA 2010 much better. The graphics are better and the game is more realistic.

Ok iv now played both demos. Gotta say i was hoping PES would be great once again, but the only thing going for it was that it was slightly more realistic. However even though the playes faces looked better than fifa, they all seemed gormless, movement seemed very stiff, fifa seemed to flow better. And the menu system on fifa is much easier on the eyes i have to say.

And i think the fifa engine runs better on the ps3 than the new pes engine, seemed to have a higher frame rate and less jumpy than pes, if u play on a 46"+ 1080p tv you can see the difference between them both

So at the mo im gona be buyin fifa10, though i maybe tempted to sell it on if the pes demo was really an early build and that the full game they improve on it alot

I've been playing it quite a bit on the PC. As much as I want to like it, they are a couple of really frustrating things. For example when you dummy a shot it's kinda slow which gives players a pretty good chance to tackle you, and it puts you off to a strange angle... unless this is something about the 360 system that I need to get used to. Also, the through balls are pretty hopeless compared to previous versions.

PES2010 has literally killed Fifa10

Honestly the graphics are amazing now as they have sorted the lighthing and player detail

i want this to be true..

i am not buying anything until a head to head review is done on the finished games... shouldn't be long now! :D

Maybe it's something to do with my 7800GT, but PES looks way, way nicer than FIFA on my PC.

First of all, It's very hard to compare when you give no detail of WHAT you played. PC versions of FIFA are nothing like their console counterpart (PS2 ports ring a bell?), And there is vsync and frameskipping features to consider. Similarly in consoles, It all depends if you play on 1080p or 720p or so as that affects game speed as well.

Now, as a PC gamer solely, I'll say what i thought about the PES and FIFA 2010 PC demos.

PES is so much better on the PC its not even funny. It's like EA doesn't bother with the PC anymore, but PES has really taken a huge step forward from PES2008/2009 PC versions.

The menus and overall presentation is great. I liked the background music in the demo, as well.

The menus are easier to navigate, but sometimes certain information i was used to see is 'hidden" in a way.

I think the graphical detail is much, much better than any other football came i have seen or played. Player likeness is amazing, and personally i think it is better than any one of FIFA 10's screenshots and videos i have seen, and from the ones in the PC demo.

Gameplay has thankfully slowed down from the ping pong arcade style that PES 2008/2009 gave us, and although there are certain issues with response/timing right now, All posts by play testers of later builds shows those issues are migitated or even gone (also look at Winning Eleven 2010 posts).

The AI seems to be better on Top Player than last year, Which is great since i had an easy time in PES09 breaking down every team with at least 5 goals spread to my name, and im not a great player probably since i barely use any tricks or special manual controls as most gamepad/console players use.

Animations are much better, honestly, but there are still instances where you see the engine's behavior popping out to say hello (Goalkeeprs jump at every ball even if its slowly rolling into their hands, Players hitting the goal nets automatically do their ive-tripped-and-fell-on-the-net animation even if they were already stopped or on the floor).

Through balls are a big problem in the demo, as they are sloooooooooooooooow. you can't really pass with them properly since players just wait for the ball to come to them, leaving them open for tackles. Like i said before, Posts about the later builds say this is all improved, but we need to wait and see ourselves, won't we?

Overall.. I've played over 200 hours of PES 2009 because i enjoyed it even though it had its flaws.

This year.. I think i'm going to enjoy PES much much more and with a better challenge.

Remember this is my opinion and my opinion alone, so don't take any facts out of this ;)

To the fools using the PC versions to compare...go play a proper version!! That is: PS3 or Xbox 360. The PC versions are completely different and generations behind the console ones.

If you play both the FIFA 10 and PES 2010 demos on PS3 or Xbox 360 you will realise that the former is better by a country mile in every respect. If you still disagree, then you're simply a loyal PES fan and nothing will change your mind anyway.

Calm down. I've played 5 full season of PES 2010 on the 360, but I don't own one. I wouldn't say the difference between PES on the 360 and PC is THAT different either. This thread is in the Gaming section so I don't see a problem with people comparing the two on the same format. Not everyone has or wants a PS3 or 360 and the games are both released on the PC so expect comparisons.

Yes, Because not thinking FIFA is the supreme ruler of the universe of gaming is fanboyism.

Sheesh.

Lol well I'll have you know that I used to be a PES fan through and through on PS2, but as I said in another thread, PES really lost its way with this generation of consoles. Every year Seabass makes loads of promises of how much better PES will be, but every year the EA guys make FIFA a more refined, realistic and fun football game to play.

You'll see when the reviews come out that for the 3rd year in a row, FIFA has widened the gap between itself and PES.

It's a shame...but I hope PES comes back with a vengeance one year (perhaps next generation with the consoles), because the competition keeps them both on their toes (excuse the pun).
