Fall out 3

I got used to using the quick save feature after I've ended up dieing after traveling across the entire map, or because the game crashed from one messed up addon or another. The quicksave button I believe is F5 by default. However...your save folder can get quite large using this. Mines currently at 1.5gb, though if you want to risk it you could always delete your oldest saves.

those damn fire ants are a pain, however i discovered if you run circles round them whilst whacking them with bat or knife etc, then they cant turn round quick enough to fire you! can kill them now without losing any health.

This game rawks!...

Use the VATS to shoot their antennas. That makes them get all confused and then they're easy to kill.

Recently re-installed this game after buying it the day it came out. I quickly became frustrated with it the first time and stopped playing it. However, decided to give it another go, as it does look like a great game.

Anyway, my main problem is, I suck! i dont normally play RPGs, Im sitting here with next to no life, and a couple of crappy pistols. I guess I need tips on how to regenerate my life, and tips for killing the enemy better! Im currently trying to find a bed as the game tip said this will help??! But I keep getting killed by the raiders!

I have a couple of 10mm pistols, and police baton, how ever I reckon I could kill them quicker by spitting on them. and some mutated thing keeps scaring the life out of me everynow and again! :-) anyway, I find a good hiding spot and arm my VAC, then give them a couple of rapid shots to the head, but never kills them, they end up finding me and killing me!

So please help!

Thank you.

If you want a more powerful character stay away from perks that increase any type of skill level, go for perks that increase your SPECIAL stats or add damage, or other unique abilities. The perk that increases the amount of skill points you get from reading books also really adds up in the end, you should get that asap. Also when leveling up, be careful about point puts into a skill past 80 or so. Skills cannot go past 100 by any means, so if you level it to 100 to quickly you may end up wasting points that you could have found with books or bobble heads. If you use this strategy you should have several main skills at 100 by the time you hit level 15-20 and you will end up maxing out other skills you don't normally use just to play around and try them out.

Like you I had a lot of trouble and frustration on my first play through and I used this method on the second and it was much more fun for me. My character was so powerful that I always had nearly 100 radaway, radx, nuca cola, etc. stockpiled because I never really needed them. So it is a little "over powered", but you can also adjust the difficulty too if it becomes too easy for your taste.

Do you guys use the skill books as soon as you get them, or do you stock pile them?

I've got the comprehension perk (2 skill points instead of 1), but all the skill books I've found are in a pile in my megaton house.

I always used them as soon as I got them, I don't see much point in saving them up. As long as you have the perk. Boggle heads are a different story though. The ones that increase your stats, like health and intelligence and what ever else (I forgot what they're called, been a while since I played), should be saved until you get to level 30 and get the I'm Special perk that raises all your stats tol 9, this way you can have a perfect 10 stats.

Almost Perfect is the perk, it raises all SPECIAL stats to 9 (so then you go through and get the SPECIAL bobble heads to get all 10's), there are also other bobble heads that raise other stats though like Big Guns that you should get (they aren't SPECIAL stats, so they don't effect the perk)

About the books, I've hoarded every single one I've found, they're all in a pile in my Megaton house, maybe I should use them :p
