Spookie
Having watched the demo at PAX09. I can safely say not even a few more months of development will save this game from the bargain bin. Silly Scousers.

neoadorable
is this holiday season already a wash? are publishers worried or something? First Bioshock now this. And of course let's not forget Alan Wake, which is being considered by Merriam-Webster as a screenshot next to the definition of "uncertain". Quality. at least split/second looks awesome Indeed, I suspect that will **** all over Blur from quite a height.
bangbang023 Veteran Posted September 21, 2009 Veteran Share Posted September 21, 2009 is this holiday season already a wash? are publishers worried or something? Some may try to deny it, but it's the Modern Warfare 2 effect. The game has become the new Halo, so to speak, and is going to dominate sales in a holiday season still affected by a recession. neoadorable
thanks spookie but you're only saying that cause i'm dissing a 360 exclusive  EDIT: as for the recession, i guess that's most of it. seems like a lot of the big games are shying away. Is it really MW2? i don't think so. COD has been a big franchise for years, even if MW was indeed the biggest and the most prolific across several platforms. i just hope it's not a case of publishers running out of money for development, marketing and distribution. Besides, in a healthy environment there'd be people lining up to compete with COD for that shooter market.
Tharp Daddy
I don't think it's as much being scared of CoD and such games, but that publishers are realizing they have to take time to make quality games because money is becoming harder to rip out of gamers' hands, they can't just publish trash anymore and hope for good sales, they have to really compete for the sale. Spookie
thanks spookie but you're only saying that cause i'm dissing a 360 exclusive  ... I don't get it. :s Is it really MW2? i don't think so. I think it's: Shift, Forza 3, GT5 (is that out this year?)... On top of Brutal Legend, MW2, AC2, Uncharted 2 (Making me buy a PS3? FUUUUUUU!) and so on. It's not the best choice of time in the year to test the water with a new franchise. Not to mention it looks like a weak game anyway. neoadorable
yeah you've been on a slight anti-360 bender lately, right? that's why i was poking fun at your quick approval of my snide Alan Wake comment. And if none of this makes any sense to you, welcome to my world :x EDIT: don't know if i'd classify Blur as weak, it shows some promise and i like the title. Besides, it's the new PGR far as i'm concerned! PGR4 stands as the best racing game i've ever played. Hell I'd go so far to say quite hyped for it, that and Splinter Cell. Both exclusives oddly enough. ;) Well if you have a scour on the net for the demos it's rather... Uh, non-PGR. The sense of speed appears to have packed it's bags and left with the kids.
Ligan
is this holiday season already a wash? are publishers worried or something? First Bioshock now this. And of course let's not forget Alan Wake, which is being considered by Merriam-Webster as a screenshot next to the definition of "uncertain". Actually I was reading from a pretty credible source that Activision doesn't publish anything that they can develop into a multi-million dollar franchise. I'll get a source and edit this post including it but take my word for it.
neoadorable
spookie - fair enough, and glad you agreed with the Al Wake remark. It's a shame Remedy and MS can't get this thing out the door, it's so delayed it's not even funny anymore. But please give Blur more leeway, i'm hoping it's gonna be like PGR meets Spy Hunter meets Autoduel etc. Ligan - not sure what you meant? Sure Activision epitomize the franchise-hungry publisher. You mean they won't take a chance on an uncertain commodity, right? Could be.

Yeah that is true but that doesnt apply to the Wii! People still buy rubbish games. yeah you've been on a slight anti-360 bender lately, right? that's why i was poking fun at your quick approval of my snide Alan Wake comment.
