Infinity Ward: We

So .. let me get this straight.

They're going to do something different when they run out of wars to draw from?

Great. Infinity Ward will never do a different series of games.

Hey, if they at least step out of the 20th century I'd be pleased. Call of Duty: Napoleon in Russia, Call of Duty: The War Between the States, Call of Duty: The War of the Roses. T'would be interesting.

Do you mean the wolves? That is pretty crappy though, you don't touch them and they don't touch you.

I want dogs that can smell you and chase you until they kill you.

You have some weird fetish man :|

The way I see it, as I've heard from other developer commentary, is there is only so many ideas that they can flesh out into a game at once. They still usually end up with a lot of unused ideas that they are dying to try out. My guess is they mean once a good majority of these great ideas are implemented into the games, they'll move onto the next thing.

Seems like a waste to me if they have a bunch of left-over great ideas for a game/series but can't use them for possible sequels because some people want them to move to a new IP. Of course this is assuming they really do have some great ideas for sequels and aren't just trying to milk the cash cow.

So am I the only one seeing the problem here ?

"Yeah where going to be doing the same thing untill we run out of idea of new things to do, then we'll try something new"

Yes, this reeks of "we've already run out of concepts, so we'll just iterate on plot."

Not really they did a "brand awareness" test (details are on the web somewhere) and it shown a majority of people didn't know it was part of the CoD franchise hence the title got slapped back on. :)

In game they say they have dropped the CoD name though.

Yeah I remember hearing about that. But I still find it interesting that they didn't change it to CoD within the game too - they must be pretty set on the "separate IP" thing. I guess it increases the chance of the next MW dropping the CoD part permanently.

But MoH is made by EA. Activision would NEVER let them develop a game for them.

Nope. The original MoH: Allied Assault and the sequel was created by 2015. Most of them left and created Infinity Ward. Which then started with the Call of Duty franchise.

Going out on a limb, and I know it would "more of the same" type of game - BUT - Can you imagine IW making a COD title based on Vietnam?

Huey Gunships, Sappers, Booby Traps, Tunnel Rats - man the twists and turns that game could hold

Insurgency into Laos and Cambodia - Would be a fantastic selling title - IMO
