Forza Motorsport 3 Demo Released

Gold only? Fuuuuuuuuuu!

Cmon MS this is the one game you should be pimping to all 360 accounts :( I've heard a 24/48 hour trial account doesn't give you access to gold Demos either? Confirm/Deny?

ORDERED (Asked politely really) my GF to download it for me as I'm at work! Lol.

AB, why not create a new account and get the Free 1 month Gold...

I believe that's only for the first GamerTag created on a new console?

I actually done myself out of that when I got my 360 as I was too excited I went and created my GamerTag on Xbox.com before I got my 360 LOL.

It's cool the demo will be online soon (Y)

As far as I know its for any new account created. Maybe they stopped doing that, but that was the last time I knew.

I've got to say, I'm not impressed. Yes is looks fantastic, but it feels horrible to play - I might as well have been racing the car/s around on their roof; as I'm sure it'd feel exactly the same.

The auto-braking is a terrible feature too (I know it can be disabled, but I left it for my first go) - I kept braking at frustrating points in corners, usually at points where I could just drive through without touching the brake. Because of this, I had no chance whatsoever of catching anyone, as we'd always brake at the same time and they'd just be far enough in front of me on the straights.

I'm probably the only person to think this though, and it'll undoubtedly still sell shedloads.

I'm a big Forza fan, and I was actually disappointed with this demo!

- What is the use of a cockpit view if you can't look around the cockpit? You're not supposed to be able to look completely behind you, if you want to look behind you, it should show the rear window. Same with all other directions. To me it feels very cramped in the cockpit, can't adjust the view at all and can't even look down to see the shift nob.

- Sense of speed is ok, pretty much the same as forza 2, which was good.

- Turning the music off is a must, the game feels completely different

- Exterior graphics are very good, a nice step up from FM2, but FM2 still look amazing to me so it's not that huge of a jump.

- Interior graphics need to be lightened up, the whole interior is too dark. Maybe to focus your views on the spedo and such?

- Tach on the side of your screen is bland, would've liked to see a specific one for each car, or a better constructed one. Hopefully they'll have DLC for new things like spedos and tachs.

- Racing seems really "heavy", again, I understand it is supposed to be realistic and cars don't glide around like butter, but hopefully tuning cars and aftermarket parts will fix this.

I know I sound like the old man who doesn't like change, but I had high hopes for this demo. I'll be playing FM2 till FM3 comes out I guess, hopefully it will regain what it lost in the demo.

Check out NFS:S's cockpit view

Anyone else find the AI rev in the beginning highly annoying?

Yes. It gives you what, less than a second to get the revs going how you want? And for people who use the manual transmission w/ a clutch it's even worse. Lord knows what they were thinking with that.

Awesome, I'll keep that in mind (Y)

I started downloading it off a torrent not long ago anyway, I'll just wait for it, going fairly fast.

So I just gave it a quick bash and it's great, straight to the point, it's really good. It feels very much like Forza 2 in terms of handling, how the car responds, twitches and how you work the car without assists enabled. So if you were a great Forza 2 driver, not much has changed so you can jump straight into Forza 3 without having to learn the game anew. Graphics are gorgeous, sounds seem spot-on and with you actually being able to modify your car visibly, it easily has the edge of GT5.

I genuinely hope PD has done something major about car handling since the GT5 Prologue, because if GT5 ships with that same dreaded snoozer-handling, Forza 3 will run rings around it all day.

Just had one lap and all I can is the game feels so good to play. After play NFS:Shift for a few days coming and playing Forza 3 makes me see that NFS:Shift is just crap when it comes to handling!

I was playing Forza 3 with most things turned off and the car I was driving felt great. I was not going to pick this up but I might have to think again about that decision.

It didn't even take F3 to make me realise the same thing over a week ago :p lol

The game is awesome, but I'm missing all the full game features :)

Also, damn, seriously need to hook up my wheel to play this. can't play seriously with a pad. to bad they didn't do a multiplayer demo like FM2 though.

Eventually I'll have to look into getting those new wheels though, even if they are overprised, and Porsche... ugh.. though I'd never use a manual shifter and full lock is silly on a racer anyway so...
