Sethos
Is it just me or are the cars really stable compared to Forza 2? I tried to disable all driving aids and yet I still need to force the car into a slide, still need to force the car the car to do anything deemed unpredictable. I haven't spun out or lost control once without driving aids as opposed to Forza 2 where you would actually break a sweat because keeping an un-assisted car on the road with the controller was pretty hard. Not even sure whether this is good or bad ... probably leaning more towards bad I supposed as driving fast without Traction Control, Stability management and all this should leave the car pretty twitchy in the corners. I think it's a matter of the cars selected for the demo being fairly safe cars, with fairly safe tires and tuning. Also noone else tried the drifting stuff yet ? or what's your scores ? I think that's a load of rubbish :p A lancer without any sort of driving aids WILL let you do drifts all day long with ease, not understeer like a pig. I honestly believe it's a gameplay change on a core level and boy I hope I'm wrong.
HawkMan
Depends on the lancer :p in any case, whatever core changes have been made are to make the simulation more realistic, not to make it easier. Easier to drift with the R8 though, but they're AWD anyway so they're not that good drifters anyway.
Vortex566
So you will have to install the game to be able to play it? If this is the case does anyone know the size of the install? My 20GB drive is just not cutting it right now.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted September 26, 2009 Author Subscriber² Share Posted September 26, 2009 The only thing I find strange about the graphics is how much they black out the windows of the cars during race mode vs replay mode :/
Kushan
I heard somewhere that it was like 4Gb, but I haven't got a source or anything for that. EDIT: I'm sure that's just a cheap trick to save on rendering times, AB lol

HawkMan
The only thing I find strange about the graphics is how much they black out the windows of the cars during race mode vs replay mode :/ Different shaders. race mode uses lighter shaders with less calculations required. which result in occasional stuff like that. HawkMan
I'm not so sure, actually, it looks more like the actual car model is different (look at the rear lights). yeah, it's actually both, but I suspect they're not actually the same car, as in year model. if it was a different model for racing and replay (wich would be a loading nightmare anyway) then the lights wouldn't be that different, in fact they'd look the same, just less polys. but there's a difference in the shaders to, I suspect replay shaders have better opacity/deformation on opacity, and seems to have more accurate reflections. MillionVoltss
Hopefully you can Install both disks to the Xbox Hardisk and only need one to use both image's, As in not swapping the physical disk to play multiplayer.

Disk 2 is install only, as in you don't ever use it to play the game. THink of it a bit like a DLC install disk. Disk 1 is "The game". THe whole game, just not the whole content. You will only ever use disk 1 to play the game. And it can still be installed.
LingeringSoul
I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I really like the rewind feature in the demo. I'm surprised that they let you use it an indefinite amount of times though (unless I'm just terribly mistaken). Good demo, although there wasn't a lot of meat to chew on (only one track?). I was pretty fond of Forza 2, and I grew up on Gran Turismo, so I was probably going to buy this game regardless, but it's always nice to have a demo to reinforce your purchase. NoLiMiT06
Great demo, my only grip is the cockpit and lack of adjustment for it in the demo, hopefully there are some settings in the retail... :)
FiB3R
Played the demo, and apparantly although it is leagues different than NFS:Shift, Shift must have helped me adjust to sim type of games, as for the first time in History with me picking up a Forza demo I did not only crash but I actually took first, which would have never, ever happened for me if not for getting into Shift. Same here, which is great :) I do have to say out of all these recent sim racers in the past few years and before my experience with Shift that prepped for for being a bit better at these games, GT Prologue has been the one that sucked me in the most. I just preferred the handling on it the best, so I might just hold off for GT5 and possibly skip Forza 3, but my way overpriced monstrosity of a accesory called the MS Wireless Racing Wheel does not work with the PS3 so I might as well get my moneys worth. Actually anyone in the NJ area want to buy it at a good price? Don't sell it!!! :o Have you got it mounted to something? Makes it so much better to use. You can mod it with new bearings too, to make it more solid, (haven't done that yet) and I want to mod the peddles too, they are far to soft. It feels like that to me too. The cars feel really light to me as well, and too easy to shoot from one side of the track to the other. Isn't that more arcadey? Sethos
I do hope they separate the scores because as useful as rewinding is, it definitely shouldn't be on the 'normal' leaderboards.
