Tactical Intervention aka The Next Counter-Strike

Recommended Posts

The game does look a little like it's running on a Dx9 (Not 9c) system, where the matte textures on the Source engine are present, try running TF2 like that and you'll see what I mean, usually on an older Gfx card.

Otherwise it's looking to a great game, but The_Decryptor has made numerous good points, he can't really release a Counter-Strike 2, because the current community would complain, and it has so much to live up to it would be a hard challenge. He's taken the safer, and more effective route by calling it a 'new' game, but basing it on an old version of the Engine may hold them back. I know it's because of financial issues but maybe a good long conversation with Valve may be all they need, with the almost finished development of this, that they can get access to the new Engine.

It's based on the latest version of source. As far as i'm aware. The shots that you see are all from at LEAST 6/7 months ago.

Ahh, then that'll be the reason. You say you have contacts yes? Can you get them to give us newer screenies and maybe a sneak peek gameplay video?

I want this.

Yes but my point was, considering he had to move into his Mother's basement or whatever, I don't think it would be very practical to expect him to license/create a new engine :)

...

Everything I've read has gone with the angle that the move was on purpose, why he didn't have his own basement I don't know.

And all early shots look like crap because at that stage you're (quite rightfully) focusing on gameplay more than appearance, Valve's early maps for HL2 were textured in a single colour (or 2) with no props laying around and no detailing.
