Spookie
I was debating whether to put this in Media Room or here. It's better suited here but mods feel free to move it if need be. Some of you may know Charlie from as far back as PC Zone before he became a media ######, worked for The Guardian, made Screenwipe, Newswipe, Dead Set and recently You Have Been Watching. But enough of me gushing about his previous shows. He's been commissioned a 1 off slot on BBC4 at 10pm to do Gameswipe. An imaginative title for a show about... Games! The reason I'm pimping this is simple. If there is enough viewers of the show there will be a full blow series. Which not only means you get a cynical ****** insulting todays games like a crossbreed of Zero Punctuation and Sethos. But we get gaming back on TV! On a show which doesn't consist of: 1. A bunch of adolesent tossers telling us how amazing and leet the new Wii games/Halo/insert trendy well selling game here 2. Watchdog/This Life/insert consumer programme here telling us how bad consoles are, how they are destroying society, killing children and drowning cats. In short. No excuses watch it tonight or on iplayer. We need more gaming on TV! Preview from tonight: Beatles Rockband
Neztea
I get enough angry / condescending gaming reviews online. -Zero punctuation -Angry Video Game Nerd Actually, thats not a lot. But its enough for my needs. :) Can't view the video cause of copyright issues. :( Neztea

AbandonedTrolley
Just set PlayTV to record it tonight. Is it geeky I just used my phone as a wireless router, to fire up my PSP in work to remote play the recording?

Spookie
I'll give it a watch but it'll either be rubbish or die off quickly. Charlie Brooker is far from rubbish. He managed to go from ****ty niche channel to prime time C4 TV slot in a couple of years. :p Have a watch of You Have Been Watching on 4od the 90's episode was legendary. No no, I don't mean the guys rubbish, I'm just sceptical of the gaming coverage/what gaming news will feature. If it's all Wii games and Guitar Hero I won't give a ****, but that's what will get hits, not Demons Souls :p

I'd really like to have a phone, which can do infrastructure.

If it's all Wii games and Guitar Hero I won't give a ****, but that's what will get hits, not Demons Souls :p To quote twitter: "Gameswipe tonight! BBC4! 10pm! Partly aimed at ppl who don't give a **** about games. Post-watershed games coverage = rare as tartan clouds." But from one of the people going a segment: "For those who get BBC4 I'll be on Gameswipe on tues night (29th) singing a little ditty about Madworld." Good to know we'll be covering graphic violence! Also on the show tonight are Graham Linehan (Father Ted, IT Crowd), Dara O'Briain (Mock The Week) as well as the scots from Videogaiden. So it's all good. ;D edit: I'm hoping he does a gaming version of (Semi-NSFW). :D
Spookie
Well that was rather good. :D Edit: I have to mention Dara's bit with the promoter, the guitar and yeah. I laughed. A lot. Edited September 29, 2009 by Spookie
