V-99 ODST
Hey guys I'm trying to kill 2 birds with one stone. I need a mic to hook up to my notebook to talk on skype and I want to be ready for the twitter/facebook stuff coming up on live hence the keyboard. Will the mic from the messenger kit work w/ the PC? Dead_Monkey
Yes, hook up your 360 controller to the PC, and plug the headset into the controller and it shows up as a recording audio device and a playback audio device. Works fine for me on Skype with Windows 7 RC (I rarely use it, so it's good enough, and the quality seems to be fine, Live uses pretty aggressive compression.) You should also be able to use a little splitter dongle from radioshack or equivalent and plug it into the mic in and headphone out ports of your sound device. It'd be a hassle to plug in my controller since I don't have a usb connection for it lol.

Well, they make a wireless adapter for the PC that lets you use all your wireless 360 stuff on it, but the splitter is a much cheaper option. Shouldn't cost more than a few dollars. Aergan
A lot of Xbox 360 audio jack equipment is 2.5mm rather than the standard 3.5mm plug, so be sure to get a 2.5mm female -> 3.5mm male splitter or 2.5mm -> 3.5mm converter if this is the case with the headset.
