Operation Flashpoint 2 First 10 minutes

Recommended Posts

I'm sure on the PC version you can probably turn off the hints. If not, it'll only last the first part of the first mission I'm sure. Either way, the radio system in OpFor2 sounds way better than ArmA2's even if it still sounds like Skynet took over :D

I love the tactical handling in the game. Much smoother than I thought it would be. And graphically, it's quite beautiful.

It looks interesting. The graphics seem good and the gameplay looks great. I'll wait for reviews though.

Might quite the blooper with this, video is from the PS3 version, not PC.

Check the tooltips when they pop up, L1/R1 and other PS3 buttons, then you can see the large X button as well.

Read it earlier and exactly as I suspected, they are reviewing this as a standalone IP without any connection to OFP1, they are even downplaying the entire "realism" thing, just sweeping it off to the side of Armed Assault. What kind of BS is that?! Operation Flashpoint is a synonym for realism thus, when you take over the title you follow in the same freaking tracks! We don't need another dumbed down "Oh it's fun" happy-jazz shooter on the market. God it annoys me.

No, I'm not saying I'm against good games or anything of that sort but when you take over a name in the gaming world, you sort of have some expectations to live up to. Couldn't they have re-named the game then, run on its own two feet instead of leeching off OFP's name?

hmm that village looks kind of... last-gen, in a way when viewed through those binoculars... maybe its cuz of the range...

and whats with reading out the grid coordinates like that, he sounds like a robot....i suppose its more realistic than having them say 'copy that' and follow your orders instantly, but its still coming off as abit odd

i think they should have spent more effort on that part of the voice acting since its likely to be one of the most used parts of the game, like having different pitches and speeds of saying the numbers and the alphabets...

Well from what I've seen and read it seems like it's going to be pretty realistic... even if it's not on the level of Arma2. And they have continually stated that they have aimed for realism.

I am still sceptical as to whether this game will be any good, but I am going to wait for gametrailers to do their review. Their usually very indepth and fair.

There's a number of reviews on their official forums

eg

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/sho...ad.php?t=382134 - 9/10

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/sho...ad.php?t=381825 - 4/10 <-- lol

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/sho...ad.php?t=382043 - 87%

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/sho...ad.php?t=382151 <-- someone posted a number of review scores here.

Reading them, it seems as if the game sits nicely between COD and ArmA, but is entertaining and (very) challenging.

Realism level is not quite up to ArmA2 though and there's no civilians :(

Overall, I'm still pretty hyped about the game. :)

aside from America's Army (of course, since the franchise is from the US army itself) and blackhawk down (being from a real conflict in which the US Army was involved), oh and Full spectrum Warriors

Why is it that every single Military video game or movie involves "The Marines" mostly? why not the US Army, Navy ?

Word on the street is, the multiplayer segment of the map is limited to a 2x2km square ... I hope that's some sort of joke, that's barely the size of the main airport in ArmA II
