WoW Private Servers

Recommended Posts

What's the best site that has private WoW servers? I played some before where you got like 20x the exp per kill, everything dropped carzy items, and it was all free.

Anyone know a good one?

World of Warcraft Private servers are against the Terms of Service for World of Warcraft therefor they are a violation of their copy write and in reference a violation of the LAW. They are also considered a method of piracy (even if you have purchased the game because you are now using unlicensed server software.

From this you can understand that talking about this on Neowin is agains the terms of use being that it is peaking of illegal or pirated materials.

Just so you know.

Countless threads regarding WoW Private Servers have been deleted or locked, so it's clearly against the Neowin policy to support breaking the Terms of Use for the game.

Here's some advice, pay to play the real thing. You will never get an experience as good as the official servers on private ones and you always have the looming doom of the private server getting shut down and losing all your work.

Play on the official servers.

Oh I have and will pay soon. I just want something to do in the meantime.

I didn't know it was against the TOS on Neowin either. I thought they're legit websites.

Thanks everyone.

How is that even remotely the same thing?

From what I understand private servers suck anyway. Low populations, incomplete and full of bugs, lot's of downtime plus no guarantee on how long they will last so all your hard work could disappear at any moment. Just pay the subscription, if you can't afford 15 bucks a month you have bigger problems to worry about than playing a game.

All the good ones got shut down (assuming they got sued).

I played a few in my day, but nothing worth mentioning, I wouldn't anyway because it's clearly ToS violation. Just know it's not really worth the time anyway. If you want something to do in the mean time, check out a free MMO or try the couple-day trial of WoW.

For some people, it's not that they can't afford it, it's that they don't believe in continually paying more and more for a game that they already payed more than enough for from the store alone. Also, your work on private realms isn't really as "hard" as it would be on retail. Private realms tend to have significantly higher rates last i heard. 80 may take weeks on retail, yet only days there, for example.

on a side note: i can't help but get a little chuckle out of all the wanna-be mods here. heh.

Neowin's Rule Policy: No Illegal Software Discussion.

Discussions involving warez, cracks, security circumvention, using torrents for downloading copyrighted or illegal material is strictly prohibited. This includes music files or other unauthorized software. Asking for help in doing so will cause warns or suspensions of accounts.
