crazzy88ss
A long time ago I installed an application that would automatically download torrents for TV shows. It never worked so I forgot about it. Now it's suddenly working. I don't use them any more, so I want to remove it. Also, as soon as i delete the torrent files, they instantly show back up on my desktop. Most annoying thing EVER. I CAN NOT find it ANYWHERE on my mac. Placed I've looked: 1.) Applications folder 2.) Start up items 3.) Activity Monitor (looking for some kind of app with a name on there that would trigger a memory) I originally got it off of macfreeware.com This is killing me. Any ideas how to get rid of this thing?

Quillz
Transmission and uTorrent have the ability to automatically load and download any .torrent file located somewhere on your system. Have you checked to make sure said feature is turned off, assuming you have some kind of torrent application installed?

allannyholm
Try looking in /Library/LaunchDaemons or /Library/LaunchAgents and then perhaps look around in your Application Support folder for anything unusual - like maybe the name of the app.

Will deleting it solve the problem?
Elliott
Found a .plist file that I think is it in the LaunchAgents folder. Will deleting it solve the problem? It should stop it from starting at startup. However, there must be some process running in the background that's watching a folder and starting the download. You sure you can't find anything? furby
If you installed little snitch can you see it making a request? Maybe figuring out what app might help. Could it be Automatic you installed http://codingcurious.com/automatic/ It's only checking every hour on my machine so maybe that's the reason you can't see the process running? or http://tvshows.sourceforge.net/index2.html or http://www.sabnzbd.org/ ? I spent a little time trying to automate it when I was watching too many tv shows so I've tried quite a few, can't think of too many more off the top of my head
