ramsy66
Someone who is on the official forums please, please for the love of God, ask them if they're using the ****ing awful Punkbuster again... because if they are, I'm going to go down to the PunkBuster offices and hold a shotgun to their heads until they update the damn client for Windows 7 so that I can play this when it comes out. I'm on Windows 7 and punkbuster works fine for me.
Minifig
The only alternative to Punkbuster that I'm aware of is VAC, and its not likely they'll be using that. :p They could.. I don't know.. code something new. ID Software did for some of their games.
ViZioN
Price has been increased for the PC version and still no reason for the delay:http://www.hotbloodedgaming.com/2009/10/15...rice-increased/ edit: You know what? **** them! Canceled my pre-order. Going to pirate the game for the single player, and purchase a cd-key online for the multiplayer. Why cancel your preorder? Surely you get it for the price that was advertised when you placed the order? The current price on Amazon if ?34.96. I was going to buy it but if the price increases I'll give it a miss. Sethos
Yeah, cancelling your pre-order now would be daft  Most places I know, they don't increase the price, only lower it on pre-orders in case of price-changes.

I could care less about the extra ten bucks. It's their attitude that ticked me nerves. I was okay with them silently delaying the PC version, but **** if they'll do the same with the price with no reason and stille xpect me to tolerate that "if we keep it quiet, they'll (the customers) be okay with that" treatment. ViZioN
Yeah does seem like they're trying to milk it a bit. Even with the uber expensive versions, I still think it'll be a big seller.
Lovell
Bit risky releasing it a week after l4d2, gamers don't like to wait and out of 2 good upcoming games will usually buy the first 1 to be released.

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted October 17, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted October 17, 2009 Can't believe it took them this long to deny it. :\ /tinfoil hat It was probably true until the backlashes, as I said earlier in this topic chances are it was a business decision to try and force console sales, not because the PC version needed 14 more days in the cooker. /tinfoil hat
_BeanZ_
Can't believe it took them this long to deny it. :\ Maybe it was an attempt to draw attention away from the fact that there's not going to be any dedicated servers - http://bashandslash.com/index.php?option=c...&Itemid=
goji
^ What do you mean no servers? Are they in effect trying to kill off PC gaming?
Lezard
It means there will be NO dedicated servers. PERIOD! I canceled my preorder and so did 10 of my closes friends, The whole point was to have really good and fun matches. I don't really want to learn to play 5v5 games like on consoles. LOC Veteran Posted October 17, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 17, 2009 Yes and it's also been confirmed that Infinity Ward are idiots and are removing dedicated servers from the PC version. Obviously they want the PC to fail miserably.
computerpro2
Don't believe everything you read on the internet... According to Robert Bowling (Twitter) "No delay on PC for Modern Warfare 2. You'll also have Prestige Mode in PC as well as lots of Steam support. Hopefully min specs will be soon"
robyholmes
I'm reaching for the Cancel Per Order button! I order this in July i think at ?30 and been waiting ever since. If this is true about the no dedicated servers then I might just cancel it. Why should be money go to a developer that is killing off the PC market. I would rather spend it on L4D2 and valve and developer that cares (ish) about the PC market and gamers!

Tech Star
**** Activision. I didn't want to buy this for the PS3 because there was no KB+Mouse to pwn people with, but if there is no dedicated servers then there is no reason for me to buy it for the PC. I also believe it was not IW's call, but Activisons. Dumb money grubbing wanting pricks.

carmatic
no dedicated servers? hopefully the only reason for that is because you can play cross platform... You're getting same game (as in Console), plus matchmaking and private match. so that you can show the console players what it means to play with keyboard and mouse, but i doubt that'll happen... Minifig
You guys do realize that you can't do dedicated servers with the server swap technology they've added so that if the server hoster flunks out, it passes to another server?... It's a safeguard on the PC.
