Neoauld
As per title, im burnt out of the MMO world after AoC/Aion/WoW. But like character customization. So a good RPG game would be nice. Also a good strategy game, preferably more Scifi based(have sins of a solar empire and LOVE it, but online play is lonely and can be slow)

Starbuck84
Divine Divinity. A lot like Diablo 2 imho, but very addictive and with a simple .config file edit, it even supports wide screen.
Dead_Monkey
Titan Quest and the expansion "Immortal Throne." They're about as close to Diablo as you can get. Also Dungeon Explorer 1/2 on TG-16, Dungeon Explorer Warriors of Ancient Arts for PSP and DS (these are two different games...the DS version is a sequel to the PSP version even though they released at the same time), Record of Lodoss War on Dreamcast, Dungeon and Dragons Heroes, and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1/2 on Xbox (all three of these are BC on 360), and X-Men Legends 1/2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1/2 on the Xbox and 360. I don't believe that Legends 1/2 are BC on 360, but you should be able to play the Gamecube or PS2 ports on the Wii or PS3. I've been playing this genre for a while. I haven't played it, but I also heard that the Sacred series bears some similarities. If you're tolerant of the behind the back perspective, you might also dig Monster Hunter and the Phantasy Star Online/Universe series (although that's been kind of downhill, the PSP version of Universe (Phantasy Star Portable is technically a sequel to Universe...) wasn't bad). Neoauld
well i was looking for PC games Im gonna look into Divine Divinity, Titan quest, and Disciples 2. Thanks for the suggestions As for dawn of war, after playing the orig i cant say i like the series, they arent very strategic, just unit massing and 'cool' looking battles, and ive always found the multiplayer for these games lonely, or full of brazilians who dont speak english :(
Andre S. Veteran Posted October 7, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 7, 2009 Another vote here for Divine Divinity, if you loved Diablo, it has a similar graphical style, combat is not as polished but fun nonetheless, and the story and quests aspects of the game are much better fleshed out than in Diablo. Titan Quest is the opposite, it has nice high-fantasy style 3d graphics, but no story at all, just button-mashing on monsters and picking up health potions. I got bored after 3 hours. If you haven't explored them yet, I'd check out the classic Bioware and Black Isle RPGs, Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. You have a party instead of one character, and it's based on D&D. Superb 2D artwork, hundred of cool spells and creatures, and the highest quality dialogue and voice-acting I've ever seen. The only games where I ever read every bit of text available, it's just that good. As for strategy games, in the sci-fi genre... You got traditional RTSes with C&C3 and Red Alert 3, very fast-paced. Sins of a Solar Empire is an obvious recommendation, but you already have it. In the turned-based style, there's Galactic Civilization II, but that has no multiplayer; and there's Alpha Centauri which still has no equivalent and got PC Gamer's highest score ever of 98%, it's still well worth checking out (even though it's OLD). Similar to Sins, you also have Homeworld 2.

I might add Neverwinter Nights 1 and its expansions and Neverwinter Nights 2 and its expansions are fun. I am definitely waiting for Dragon Age Origins on the PC as well so look forward to that :)
Tharp Daddy
Ohhh whats that new game... Sacred 2 Fallen Angel; it's ALOT like diablo i have heard, the downside is i have read that the PC version is pretty dismal and the 360 version is the way to go - so unless you have a 360 you are out of luck. Andre S. Veteran Posted October 7, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 7, 2009 for the longest time Sacred was the unofficial diablo IIIMeh... It doesn't hold a candle to Divine Divinity. In combat I never felt like my attacks actually connected with the monsters, it's awful. And it has no spirit.
Neoauld
hmm i was kinda hopin for someone more graphical, but still have a polished feel(which lacks in alot of new games) Dragon age is definately on my list for the future, but it looks like ill be giving Divine Divinity and Titan quest a try, after some more research im also giving Risen a try
nubs
Dungeon Siege I and II. Very underrated games. I remember playing Dungeon Siege and some levels reminded me of playing Zelda. Zelda is probably the ultimate series of RPG's if you have a Wii console. edit: If you want to go some-what dated but bad-ass gameplay... try Nox. It's so streamlined that there's basically nothing left to do except watch your characters run around, kill monsters, pick up items and sort their inventories, level up the appropriate skills, all by themselves. nubs
Never Winter Nights? Boulder's Gate? Guild Wars? Elder Scrolls III: Oblivion? Do you only want games that are 3/4 top view and fantasy?

BlackSteyrAug
+1 For Guild Wars It's not entirely an MMORPG because of the group only fight areas and no monthly fee. Hard to classify it as that.

dead.cell
Would love another Baldur's Gate game for PC... May give the Witcher a shot. Borderlands is coming out soon too! Guh... Too many good games are beginning to flood the market. It's great considering the summer drought, but damnit! I'm only one man!! This is a great thread by the way. :)
