I got it !

Recommended Posts

just a few minutes ago i just had my new cable connection installed. and i just wanted to share my celebration with you all. i am very very happy  :woot: on my previous thread i had a question about the speed. the differences between kilobytes and kilobits.

this is the best thing ever.. i was able to upload/update my website via FTP and i did it in a few seconds whereas the satellite was not even able to connect.

 and here is my DSL reports speed test

A T1 line is fater at the other end. Your cable modem speed is faster than a T1 connections but a T1 connections is defined as 1.5Mbps in both directions (upload and download speed). That should answer your questions.

Your download speed : 9153385 bps, or 9153 kbps.

A 1117.3 KB/sec transfer rate.

Your upload speed : 950269 bps, or 950 kbps.

Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

cough cough... ahhh lovely.

I got OOL too and about the same speeds as well, sometimes even hitting 6MBIT, I love the quality service very much, and the price is nothing short of amazing! When I read about UK and other place's bandwidth problems I can't help but laughing :p

 ^

i don't know.. the same thing happened a long time ago where i posted about not having broadband. it turned into "this is what i get" who cares.. i don't mind it.. besides i'd like to compare mine with others.

holly crap... how the hell do you guys get that kind of speed. tell this is not cable!! w/ adelphia i'm running "powerlink service" 2Mb down/384 up.. thier new service will be called "powerlink premium" the installer told me that it was in beta testing. it was working in some areas and not in others. maybe july or august they will sell it for $70. its 3Mb down/ 512Kb up. i'm pretty sure i'll get that as soon as it is available. even though what i have now is more than plenty :p

now.. to split the cable so that i can get free cable TV  :ninja:

... :pinch: damn! the video is filtered on the cable :(
