George P Global Moderator Posted October 7, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted October 7, 2009 I think, if anything, Facebook needs more testing and more work to get right than twitter, which in the end is just a simple little app that posts little blurps to a website. SMELTN
So here is my question. Is Facebook support just going to be, viewing our pages/comments/pics, etc? OR will we be able to play Mafia Wars and the like using our xbox's ?
what
So here is my question. Is Facebook support just going to be, viewing our pages/comments/pics, etc? OR will we be able to play Mafia Wars and the like using our xbox's ? Probably gonna be limited to the same features the iPhone app has access to... although it might not even be that extensive, considering it's the first release. I'm in no rush for it though. spenser.d
Video here: http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/07/xbox-36...deta/#continued Ok, cool. Except those reporters. At 8 minutes, I can't believe how long it took them to figure out the whole friends tab on the Facebook app. It was most definitely not as confusing as they were making it. -Spenser

ynnoj
Microsoft announced that Facebook and Twitter integration would be coming to Xbox Live way back at E3 in June, but we've yet to get a specific date for when to expect it. And, well, we still don't have one for North America -- but we do for the U.K.! The official U.K. Xbox site now lists the update for November 17 (via Joystiq). The closest thing we've gotten to a release date for this update in North America was when Microsoft recently told MTV Multiplayer that a public beta would be begin "middle-towards-end of October." So if the full service launches November 17 here as well (or thereabouts), that would make for a public beta of about one month. That sounds about right, we suppose, but we'll just have to wait and see what Microsoft actually has planned. But now we come to the hard question: Does anyone really care that much about accessing Facebook and Twitter on their Xbox 360? http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3176436 Xbox site in question: http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/social/
