Minifig
Ick, I don't wanna have to be FORCED to a paypal (paypal=EVIL) page to actually download the game until I know what I'm getting into. THEN I'll pay for it.
PNWDweller
Mini - Try this link for a try before you donate type of thing. :) I can tell you first hand after getting the game via Macheist earlier this year, it is a fun game and addictive. svnO.o
Ick, I don't wanna have to be FORCED to a paypal (paypal=EVIL) page to actually download the game until I know what I'm getting into.THEN I'll pay for it. Quoted from site: NOTE: You don't actually have to have a paypal account to use that button above. After you click it, just click "continue" on the left side of the next page to use any standard credit card. Paypal is sneaky! example here
+Majesticmerc MVC Posted October 13, 2009 MVC Share Posted October 13, 2009 Great stuff. I really hope they don't get ripped off, It would be great to have another Introversion Software style developer doing well :)
Minifig
Again, I don't want to have to be forced to pay anything, until I know what the game is like, then I'll "donate" if I feel it's worth something. It's not exactly that hard to understand. They're forcing you to pay something and you may not even know if you'll like the game.

svnO.o
They aren't forcing you to pay for anything (unless you want the full game). They've had a demo out for a really long time (tried it on steam long time ago). Medfordite linked to the demo. Also for a "donate any amount" and get the game kind of deal, it'd have to be 1 crappy game to not be worth a penny lol xD Seems like the site is down now though probably due to an influx of people trying to get the game for a penny lol Edit: Seems like the site is working again. ozgeek
They're forcing you to pay something and you may not even know if you'll like the game. Then no one is forcing you to buy it. There's no such thing as Free lunch. I'm a pensioner and just paid $1 for it. :) I could go out and buy a can of coke for $1.
Vice
I bought this game (on steam ages ago) and I don't really rate it that high. How do you change the resolution of the game? Looks like ass on my 30" Monitor pixels so large its like playing Sonic on the Sega Megadrive. Osmosis is another 'small' game with a small price its on Steam (Atleast thats where I found it) and its a lot of fun its targeting the same sort of audience as World of Goo. Sethos
I'm digging this "Pay what you want" trend - Hopefully decent developers will come along and do the same with AA(A) titles, then I'm happy

I gave them $5 for it - and it's nice to see another developer not jumping on the "lets cover it in DRM" bandwagon.
Serulean
I'm sure I've seen this before and these offers work really great to lure in the customers. The Beautiful Game Studio did this with the current Championship manager (2010) meaning I picked it up for 1p! (Plus the ?2.50 transaction fee);))
