Image/autoinstall about 300 eMacs?

Recommended Posts

We have aboue 300 eMac computers that were recently decommissioned, and my boss wants to clean them, reinstall the OS and some basic software, and than resell them. All of these computers are getting Mac OS 10.3, all available updates, Firefox, NeoOffice, and Adobe Flash.

Of course, all this software takes a long time to install on that many computers. Is there any way we could image all these computers, or create an autoinstallation disc that will install the OS and all this software automatically? We have an old Power Mac G4 server running OS 10.4 server that was also recently decommissioned, if that will help us.

Radish - Thanks, but most of those programs look like they only work for 10.4/10.5. These eMacs are all licensed for 10.3, so we're stuck putting that on them.

Could you use the System Image Utility in 10.4 server?

Then run a network startup on the emacs

I was thinking this as well. A quick bit of research seems to suggest that people had mixed results using the System Image Utility to image 10.3 to machines, but it's worth a shot I guess. :p
