Using friend's Netflix on my XBOX?

Recommended Posts

I have a friend with Netflix who lives with me for school. He sometimes uses streaming on his PC. Can I use his Netflix for the XBOX we have at our place? What about if he goes back to his other house? Streaming at the same time?

Just checking into it before we do anything, thanks.

As long as you have X-Box Live Gold you can activate it on your X-Box if you have two systems then you can activate it on two assuming both have X-Box Live Gold.

He doesnt have XBOX. just a PC. Worst case scenario I could think of is that when he is at home and he tries to stream a movie on his PC while I try to stream on my XBOX. Is it as simple as getting a code? Or Netflix account details? I have GOLD

As far as I understand it there's nothing saying you cant stream to two xboxs at the same time. Alls the xbox is is a "media device" that you've authorized to use your netflix instant queue. So you could have an xbox in each bedroom the living room and den all streaming. Although that would suck up all your bandwidth on your home connection.

yes you can stream, all you have to do is add the 360 as a ready device in the netflix site

This is the same as sharing something like an iTunes account. Technically feasible because of the ability to authorize a number of devices to the same account (six?), but not necessarily advisable, and possibly in violation of the terms of service.

More power to you.

I have 6 devices. It gives you up to 6 Netflix ready devices. Xbox count as that. I have 5 Registered and been like that for 6 months and netflix doesnt care. Also you CANT stream the same thing, but you can be streaming at the same time. I tried and worked fine. Had 5 movies going on at once, ran fine.
