All of us here at SI believes that FM 2010 is our best game yet, but we know that you will be the judge of that and welcome your feedback. So let us know what you think of it on the forums. We have always worked closely with the community to help us shape Football Manager, but I’d like to take the opportunity on behalf of everybody at SI to thank all those involved in the beta testing programme and to all of you for continuing to support us.

Over the past 12 months we’ve taken some risks by changing the way we work in an attempt to deliver you better games from the get go. We think we’ve achieved that starting with FM 2010 and we intend to go from strength to strength.

Onto the FM 2010 Gold Demo and all the details. The demo comes in two flavours, both “Strawberry” and “Vanilla”. The strawberry demo is the full package and complete experience, the vanilla demo is a light version which has been stripped down and is significantly smaller in size.

I'm surprised there aint a thread on this already. I've been loving it since Thursday

I downloaded the Strawberry version of the demo last week, and so far I'm loving it :) I've been playing the 2004(!) version since about 2007, and so obviously the new version looks a hell of a lot different, and better. I'm definitely gonna buy this as an early Christmas present to myself.

There goes my life (what life?) again!

I probably won't buy through Steam this year though

Last year the retail copy could be turned into a steam copy

I think this year though the retail copy isn't using steam, it's just a simple keep the disc in your drive if you want to play. They got a bit of flak for the protection scheme last year.

Going to give this a go.

I still love the CM brand but I'm starting to get fed up with. They've removed the history section so you can't go and look back at the history of a season (cup runs and league postions) Which at first was buggy. I've found a bug with the manager information screen(Zola got sacked as west ham manager and spent his longest time as Wales manager, while I was the manager of wales) The match engine sucks, goalkeepers are about as useful as a wet sock, keeper and defenders can just stand around a ball and do nothing other than let the other team score.

The media section seems utter useless, scouting network is very useles (best of let it go full pelt in certain countries and shift through it yourself).

And the game has got soooo much slower now, CM08 could breeze through the game now its just slow progressing from day to day. They've made a fix in the latest update, but I'm on an i7 920 and processing all the games and its now got slower!

ok, I found the interface very hard on my eyes, it seems so flat and lacking colour.

To navigate around at first seems a nightmare, with a bit of time it could become easier.

I play a game, Pompey vs Derry City, I lost it 1 nill.

perhaps CM isn't so bad after all.

if its anything like FM 2009 it will be hard to win any game at first until you actually master tactics and now a year on I still lose silly games but I win 9 out of 10 easily.

I haven't played FM 2010 demo but I expect it to be similar

This is stealing a fair bit of my time :(

Thanks to Ronaldo Man Utd start with a decent wad of cash! Picked up Villa for ?50 million, a lot of money but he's pure class. Only paid ?35 million upfront, rest is monthly.

Signed De Rossi as well from Roma, he's great.

I'm not that far away from clocking up 300hrs of Game Play on this - right in time for Football Manager 2011, which is scheduled for release on October 29th (I'm not sure if I'm gonna upgrade though - might wait for the 2012 edition)
