deridex01
I should be able to order myself a mac mini by the end of the year ( posted here about it earlier ) but someone said that the mini Dvi to DVI adaptor supplied is only short about a few inches or so. Is this true and is there a longer cable available ?? or are there cables out there to extend the length ? TIA
dreamsINdigital
You don't use the adapter to connect your monitor. You're supposed to connect a DVI cable to the adapter and connect that to your monitor. The adapter is just to convert mini DVI to DVI.

Same concept. :p It's like when graphics cards started coming with DVI and you might not have had a DVI monitor yet, so you got the VGA-to-DVI converter cable (at least I remember when that happened; I don't know if anybody else does ). However, Apple just lets you use your own long cable and supplies the short converter. That way, they don't have to worry about manufacturing several different lengths of the same cable.
