Famitsu Awards Bayonetta A Perfect Score

Well I was gonna go looking for the demo but my 360 finally crapped out, had a feeling it would. 2 1/2 years though, so I'm not complaining. Now I'll have to ring them up and see if I can get it fixed for free or if I should just go buy the arcade and get a newer and quieter system.

It's just under three years, so they should replace it for you. They don't seem to repair the consoles anymore; they just give you a new one to speed up the process, which is what they did with me. :)

Yeah, I called them up and placed the repair order, so now i'm just waiting for my box. Dunno how long it'll take but I wasn't in the middle of any game, and the new ones I wanna play aren't out yet.

I also have my PC so I can kill time with that as well, no biggy.

PS3 Bayonetta?s in English, Mr Importerb>

Good news if you have a credit card and a PS3 ? the Japanese version of Bayonetta?s in English, according to Siliconera.

If you?re missing one of those two critical components, you?re going to either need a Japanese 360 or you?re going to have to wait for its western release next year.

It?s out now in Japan. Go for it. Get some sexy Japanese witch Blu-ray in your life.

Region free gaming ftw, but I shall not be importing anyway.

Did anyone import this?

I don?t usually play hack and slash games but I have to admit this is a really good game despite the fact I suck badly at it.

Anyone have any tips for the chapter 4 boss battle? I?m beyond stuck on it?

The guy who made the video makes it look like a piece of :pinch:pinch:

Tried the demo last night.

I usually hate action/combo/button mashing games, but this game is awesome and so ridiculous.

If they got rid of the story, dialog, music, and cut scenes it would be a perfect game.

Then what's the point of playing a game? That's like wanting to watch a movie only for explosions and fight scenes.

Are you implying that Bayonetta has a good story, dialog, and music?

Also, I'm pretty sure everyone plays Mario games for the story :p

Ummm, plenty of games need no storyline at all for me to enjoy them. I played Counter Strike for years. No story. Same with the Battlefield series (although yes they are now attempting stories with the Bad Company series but no real need). As pointed out above, Mario is virtually the same story every single time... save the absolutely annoying Princess Peach.

So while sure, a story may enhance the video game game-play experience, for myself it has never been needed. In fact more often than not the only thing I know of the story as I rarely pay attention to them as they are usually so poorly written is "shoot the bad guys."

The game, from chapter 2, goes from a reasonable level of difficulty to Ninja Gaiden with more T&A level of difficulty. Oh and the ****ing cut scenes! It rivals MGS4 for cut scenes! Some set pieces are so short you can fight a boss then be trapped in another Engrish cut scene for another 2 mins to have another min of combat, another loading screen then a cut scene.

No idea how this got a 9.5 from IGN! I think it's a pile of tripe. Looking forward to Dante's Inferno though. That impressed me a great deal.

Why is anyone surprised? This game has a title character that is an impossibly attractive female witch who fights hordes of demons and performs flashy over-the-top attacks while packing as much sexual innuendo onto the screen as one can; as she strips off clothes and moans like she's having sex.

Of course a Japanese gaming magazine is going to score this a perfect 40. I'm surprised Bayonetta isn't a national treasure over there yet.

Also: I can't wait for it to come out over here :shifty:

Everywhere seems to be going nuts over this game, guess I need to check it out before GoW3.

Apologies for the bump but I couldn't see an official thread when I searched.

This game is amazing - bought it yesterday and clocked it today. This stomps all over GOW in high heels, to be fair. Pure fantastical ludicrousness lead by a ridiculously hot female. Beautifully animated, epic combo's, stunning musical score and always throwing something new your way. The story was a bit hard to understand but the ending ties it all up reasonably well - for a weirdo japanese game anyway :p

I think I'm in love with her

I like this game (just got it a few days ago) but am stuck on the part where you fight the 2 headed dragon in the church. It's shooting it's head forward is just too fast for me to dodge :(

It's obvious this game is made by the same guy who made Devil May Cry. Very polished though, and the gun play is amazing. I find Bayonetta a bit pompous, but she's hot...and her clothing is her hair...and you do hair attacks so clothing disappears...

Just use gun attacks to hit the dragon heads and eventually you'll wear it down. Dodge the head lunges if you can and use witch time to slash at the jewelled part of the dragon heads.
