Pupik
"four-month battery life"; if you use the mouse for five minutes a day, or what?
Quillz
Looks interesting. I'll have to see a demo of it in an Apple Store before I buy it, though.

hdood
Yeah, I don't think people realize how little power good mouses use. Decent ones from Microsoft and Logitech last months and months. There's hardly anything new here, and by that I mean Apple has totally just invented long battery life and everyone else is sure to copy it soon. Zmijutin
Design: 5+ Ergonomy: not sure about that... It should be good, but design is quite futuristic :D
Quillz
Design: 5+Ergonomy: not sure about that... It should be good, but design is quite futuristic :D The design seems to be more or less based on the Apple Pro Mouse from 2000 and the Mighty Mouse from 2005. Assuming it is, it should be comfortable for both left- and right-handed use. I never had any comfort or control issues with the Mighty Mouse. Chasethebase Reporter Posted October 20, 2009 Reporter Share Posted October 20, 2009 Yes, it's nice, but here's where Apple once again go for super cool features and cool design over practicality. They want to push gaming, and who's gonna use this mouse when gaming? SERIOUSLY. Pretty slick though.

How is the Magic Mouse pushing gaming when most "gaming mouses" feature multiple, fully programmable buttons and are usually considerably larger? crazzy88ss
They really need to fire their mouse development team and learn how to make a real mouse. Nobody I know with any brains actually uses the shtty mice that Apple makes. And it's been this way as long as I can remember.
Arpit
it looks interesting but i'm one of those users who use 3 fingers for 3 different buttons...index for left click, middle for scrolling and ring finger for right click...i'll have to check it out and see if it's as seamless as that...if not, no dice... it was an effort enough to adjust to lifting my index finger just to right click on the mighty mouse.. Ambroos
One thing: you can't right-and-leftclick at the same time with it. Some games I play(ed) used that function quite a lot (including World of Warcraft)
PNWDweller
The mouse does look to be quite a conversation piece and would make a fine addition to my already boring desk. The other day, the cable installer was here putting in the converter boxes at my new apartment and saw fit to replace an already high end splitter with one of theirs. He had to check the cable signal going to the modem at my computer, so I can only imagine the look on his face if I had that on the PC instead of my cheap 'ol HP mouse that replaced my not so mighty mouse. I am going to sit on the fence on this one though to wait on the official reviews, read the trouble reports etc from the end users out there that were the first to buy. To me almost $70USD is quite high to spend on a mouse for the Mac, but once it goes down in cost (or I can snag reasonably on eBay), then I will buy one after I am satisfied with the 'reviews'. :)

Alan-
This mouse could actually be a solution to "touch screen" on computers that do not posses it. It's multitouch, and theoretically could be programmed to do anything with that little surface. Now we just need a tactile multitouch keyboard :D

NeoXY
No 3 or 4 finger scrolling. This mouse is hardly as "multi-touch" as Apple is claiming. (and it looks horribly uncomfortable to use). And for a mouse thats going to be nearly $100 Canadian, I'll pass.
