Scorbing
Question: My iMac uses this type of memory: PC3-8500(1066) DDR3 200-pin SO-DIMM If I am not mistaken, this is regular laptop memory, right? Same ones used in PC laptops? Do I have to buy their $1,000 memory or can I buy another brand and use it instead? Help. Links to alternatives will be appreciated. Guest
Yeah, its laptop RAM. You don't need to buy Apple RAM (which I believe is Samsung). I recently bought 2GB for my 20" iMac from Crucial (http://www.crucial.com/) and its works fine :). Crucial.com has a system scanner which will make sure you select the correct RAM.
