Scorbing
OK here's the question: I have 2 PCs in the house with Windows 7. Mine and my wife. She has an external hard drive connected to her PC which I can access from my Windows 7 PC through Network on the Start Menu. I want to be able to access that HD with the iMac. How can I do it? I am totally lost!!!! - Help!
Rudy
If the drive is shared by the Windows 7 computer it should show up in SHARED in the left sidebar in finder (well the computer will, and then you can connect to it)
Elliott
You should just see the computer in the sidebar in Finder because the system advertises itself as a zeroconf service in Windows 7. However, as a surefire way if you're having problems: Get the IP address of the system that the network share is on. Then go to the Mac. In Finder, click the "Go" menu in the menubar and choose "Connect to Server...". In the window that pops up, type: smb://PC IP ADDRESS HERE/NAME OF PC SHARE So, if I had a Files share at 192.168.254.3, I would type smb://192.168.254.3/Files
