carmatic
This trailer pretty much sold me on the game and THAT's why they refused to classify it!
Smigit
Yeah our rating system is a joke which really needs a change... The computer game contains a level of violence which is high in impact, prolonged, repeated frequently and realistic within the context of the game. I mean that? Many mario games have "realistic and prolonged violence" if you are going to take it within the games context. For a zombie game its a given there will be zombies. I wouldn't mind so much if the board was at least consistent on these issues however they are absolutely hopeless at sticking to any kind of standard. As has been mentioned in many post on this issue they let something like Fallout 3 pass after a second examination/edit despite the fact you could get slow motion close ups of bullets entering HUMANS heads and limbs ect coming off. That IMHO is far worse than the rather comical way zombies are treated in this game at times where everything is so excessive that I cant imagine who wouldnt be able to find the gap between the reality and fiction of this game. kl33per
Doesn't "despite recieving a MA 15+ rating for a watered down version two weeks ago." pretty much state that they made a Australian only version? I'm betting that if that version had passed muster, it would have been the international release. Just a guess, but this is the kind of thing that companies have done before. For example, this is what happened with Fallout 3. Refused Classification does mean it's banned (if it's RC, you can't sell it, buy it, import it, etc., of course the police/customs don't care) It DOES NOT mean it's banned. True, an item that is refused classifcation is not legally able to be sold, hired, or publically exhibited, but it is not illegal to posess said item (unless it's been refused classication due to illegal content). The_Decryptor Veteran Posted October 23, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 23, 2009 Valve would release an Australian version of L4D2 like they have for all their other games that have been modified for other locals (Because other companies do it, doesn't mean Valve would do it, especially when they have a track record of not doing it) And yeah, that's as good as banned. Edit: Apparently, the original version is still banned, the MA15+ release isn't, so we're still getting L4D2, just a censored version.

Wow, EA would f*** the rest of the world so everyone would be running the same version. Wouldn't that kick up a bigger ****storm than IW removing dedicated servers from MW2? Fred Derf Veteran Posted October 24, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 24, 2009 It would seem that the powers that be do not believe that anyone over the age of 15 would still be playing games. 20 years ago that was very true.
