Scorbing
The iMac I got is the previous top-of-the-line modem with the 24" screen, the Intel Core 2 Duo CPU at 3.06 GHz and the Nvidia GT 130. Even though this model: http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MB952L...mco=MTMzNzU5ODc Has a bigger screen, the CPU and the DDR3 memory is still the same and the video card is ATI and has half the memory mine has. From what I have been reading, the card I got is much better than that one? Please correct me if I am wrong. I still have 10 days to exchange it if I want. What should I do? saxondale.
The quality of the screen is a lot better. It also has an SD slot, comes with a wireless keyboard/mouse, better speakers anda bigger HDD. You can take the ram to 16gb.
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted October 22, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 22, 2009 In my opinon, the ATI Radeon HD 4670 outperforms the NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 despite having half the memory. Over the NVIDIA card, it has GDDR3 RAM (most models), a 256-bit memory interface (vs. 192-bit), and 32GB/sec memory bandwidth (vs. 24GB/sec). As for the iMac, I'd go for it if the difference in price is below $300.

You can take the ram to 16gb. The quality of the screen isn't that much better. The backlighting is superior and it's bigger; that's it. They both use IPS panels probably of the same grade since I don't see how the new iMac could improve much over the old one's excellent display. However, if I were in the OP's shoes I would return my 24" for the new model since he is still in the return period. It makes no sense to keep an outdated model when new models just launched. Elliott
Yea, just return it and get the new one. :p The larger screen will be nice, and the Radeon 4670 should still perform better.
