carmatic
http://www.destructoid.com/microsoft-offer...es-152768.phtml Microsoft stores will be equipped to handle some basic repair tasks. All you have to do is walk in the store with your console, drop it off at the Answers Desk and a Microsoft Store employee will then diagnose the issue that you're having. If it's something simple -- such as a faulty power supply causing the Red Ring of Death -- they'll rectify the situation immediately. short article, but its like when you think about those new Microsoft Stores, and then you think about RROD's , this is what you will think of... George P Global Moderator Posted October 23, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted October 23, 2009 I think it makes sense, and is nice, if you have a store close to you that is. If they can work out the problem in the store and "fix" it, you get it back quicker. No shipping on your end either, just hand it to them and if they have to send it in they will, hell maybe they'll even replace it with another one if the problem is a serious one? I hope the new MS stores do well actually.
hdood
So they're really RROD repair points, concealed as "Microsoft Stores." I'm onto them!
mad_onion
That would be really useful much easier than sending it off to get fixed. We just need a Microsoft stroe in London now which you would hope would be one of the first places to get one although as the first one was in Scottsdale AZ maybe Microsoft is starting with small town USA ... mistical
Good idea to include this in their store(s). But I think it would be a much better idea to have opened more stores at once in major cities. But that is just me, I know they want to see how this store works out before opening more? I imagine, but only makes sense to do better success if they had done so in more major cities.
