Recommended Posts

I think donkey = ass.... So:

A man went to see a psychologist. He came in and asked "Why can't I make any friends, you ass!?"

I have no idea what the uncle is all about. :/

Since Evil_Dragon has complained:"I have no idea what the uncle is all about. "

I guess this is one of problemsconcerning the joke.

"Your uncle = (with bantered manner) Me/I/Your dad", it is like "Yours truly = (with bantered manner) Me/I".

Right...well that didn't help much. It was a joke, it was translated well, which is not your fault. We got another version of the joke that we can understand, had some laughs, now its done.

heh.. i got it after the translation..

basically, a guy's wondering why he doesnt have any friends.. so he goes to a psychiatrist and asks "why dont i have any friends, ass?"

soo, of course he has no friends because he's an ass himself.. (likea jerk.. someone not fun to be around, etc..)

should be crystal, now.

ok - my interpretation:

He askes why he has no friends and insults the Psychologist. The Psychologist has no reason to be insulted, so it gives the impression that the guy insults people randomly. This is why he has no friends - because he insults them all.

But I laughed when I first read it because his insult was 'you donkey'. Dunno why but that just made me laugh out loud

Now I understood why insulting others with "you donkey" can not work.

Because one of the meanings of doncky is the image of Democratic Party since 1874. But American Heritage Dictionary explains:

Donkey --

(1) The domesticated ass (Equus asinus).

Slang

(2) An obstinate person.

Slang

(3) A stupid person.

And Webster dictionary explains:

Donkey --

1: the domestic ass (Equus asinus)

2: a stupid or obstinate person

In my joke, "donkey" means "stupid person".

It is a lesson to translate something just according to America's authorized dictionaries.
