SuperKid Posted October 29, 2009 Share Posted October 29, 2009 My laptop can output HDMI 1080p to my tv through my reciever with sound, if i use my laptop to play mkv files it displays fine on screen but i need help setting up ffdshow audio decoder Anyone got a guide on what settings to use for ffdshow to work good through hdmi port on the reciever? MS Bob 11 Posted October 30, 2009 Share Posted October 30, 2009 In ffdshow audio decoder configuration, the last item above About is Output. There the default output is 16 bit integer PCM. You can try checking off like AC3 and LPCM. Plus make sure in Sound Control panel (mmsys.cpl) in Vista/7, S/PDIF interface is set as default output device. Then go to its Properties and on the "Supported formats" tab, set the formats and sample rates your receiver supports. If using XP, in volume control, Options, Properties make sure "Advanced Controls" is enabled, then click Advanced button and check "Digital output".
