Xbox repaired in a day?

Recommended Posts

Ok I sent my xbox for repair last week, they recieved the unit yesterday and have processed the repair today to sending back... I'm a bit worried they might not have found an issue with the box? meaning it must be my power-brick?? Or is it likely they've simply replaced the unit straight away?? Any thoughts?

I got a refurb the first time. But it took around a week to process the exchange :s, this took literally a day... seems really strange to me.

That's pretty standard. Mine only took a day to repair too. Most of the time was spent shipping the xbox back and forth. From what I understand, they don't bother trying to fix anything, they just rip out and replace basically.

My last RROD took 5 days, once I shipped it it took two days to get to Germany, spent one being swapped for a refurb, and the next two getting home again :)

Yeah, mine got repaired the same day it arrived, unfortunately they sent it to Prague, via Frankfurt.

Sometimes they replace the dvd drive, as well as sorting the rrod errors.

Boxoh.com is great site for tracking UPS packages.

Where did you ship it from? I'm waiting for the UPS box so I can send mine in as well. But I'm in Greece, dunno how long it'll take to get there and back.

I figure at this point they just send a refurb or a newer one and reuse any good parts from the one you sent in.

I'll see what I get back in the end. heh.

I finally got the RROD a few months ago and a friend fixed it for me. Took him like an hour and the parts were $13. I could of done it myself, but I was lazy.

I got my XBOX 6 months after they were released..took that long for me to get the RROD.

I got mine after 2 1/2 years, no complaints .

BTW did yours show signs that it was going to or did it just do it? Mine started freezing 2 days before it started giving me the RRoD. Though it doesn't give it each time I turn it on, but it does freeze each time.

I've sent back two. The first which was repaired (I believe the motherboard was replaced) took about a day. The second which would up being replaced by Microsoft, took about two days.

For the first system I got it back a week after I sent it in, and the second about ten days.

I do however live within one shipping day from the nearest repair center.
