deep1234
Hi guys, I have installed the 3 DVDs of WOW on my new windows 7 64bit installation. Just not to wast time downloading all the patches from the start, I copied all the patches from my bothers computer and past them in the wow folder. But after starting the launcher it started downloading a patch version 3.2.0 with a size of 1.62GB!!!. So guys, is something wrong here? did I do this the right way or is this patch is summarize all the previous patches (I think so due to the size)? And thank you. Note: it been like 6 months now since the last time I played WOW, so sorry if I am not that fully aware of latest updates of the game.

Nope, nothing is wrong :). 3.2 is a massive patch they released a little while back containing talent changes (again), a new 5 man instance called Trial of the Champion, a 10/25 version of that called Trial of the Grand Crusader. They also added new Emblem gear, got rid of Emblems of Heroism and Valor, made some small changes here and there and added a new battleground called Isle of Conquest. Here are the patch notes: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/#3.2.
Prosidius
Pretty soon you'll need a dedicated hard drive for the game. :p
Raa
Oh and patch 3.3 is coming soon! :p Don't forget to patch 3.20 -> 3.21 -> 3.22 (yes in that order!!)
protocol7
Pretty soon you'll need a dedicated hard drive for the game. :p It's a cunning plan to leave you with insufficient space to install any other games.
mycoolkim
hehehe, so true, havent played since the first release of WOTLK, but the patches do get sick and tired, it constantly drains your bandwith :( Only way I would suggest is, just copy the whole WOW folder to a portable harddrive and just play from there, worked for me :)
Salty Wagyu
You wasted your time installing and updating WoW from 3 DVDs (if that's vanilla WoW, then TBC then WOTLK) :p The WOTLK DVD has the whole thing, just need to patch it to 3.
seta-san
no. you completely wasted your time. you can just have copied your brother's wow directory to your harddisk and it just works... blizzard doesn't act like a bunch of asshats putting in obsercure registry keys. Salty Wagyu
WoW is around 14gb on mine, my guess is you have some obsolete data files not used by the game anymore if it's a very old install
deep1234
Pretty soon you'll need a dedicated hard drive for the game. Funny enough that I was thinking the same thing 2 days back. I thought of using my old hard drive which it is about 160GB SATA for games only, there is a lot of games which will come that require a lot of disk space. McCordRm
First, there was floppy disks. Then DvDs. Then USB drives. Now, introducing the WoW Drive- the portable, go-anywhere, World of Warcraft harddrive. This 300gb monster ensures you have all the storage you need for at least 6 months worth of updates!
